- She donated her kidney to her rotten father. Horrible Lexie played the Manipulating sister, and laid a guilt trip on Mer. She begged for Meridith to give her her "Daddy." Mer did not want to go through with it, but caved under the sibling pressure. I do NOT like Lexie. I don't understand in any way how she is an interesting, likeable, or compelling character. I love Bones, particularly the lovely looks between B & B. But I have to look away too much, particularly if I'm eating. Why do they gross us out so much?     - I don't think you are a hypocrite Hope. There is no reason we can't treat "food" animals humanely. I like meat and eggs, but I don't want to torture sentient creatures. It's so unnecessary. I always buy Free Range or Free Run eggs. It's only a small gesture, I know. As for Bones, it is a bit silly to have her SO cold, when we know that's not true. - Finally had time to watch this. I tried not to take this ep too seriously, and just laughed at the jokes for what they were. I thought Angela's requests were extreme and I probably would have reacted the same way Bones did at first, but I don't consider that cold. Did anyone watch "V"? it was pretty good but alot like The 4400 and the other syfy shows. Did you notice that "Sara Gilbert (Court Marschall of S. - We watched it. Hubby and I remembered the original "V" series from the mid-80s that started as a mini-series. It was "all right", but not great. Don't care to watch it again. It has all the "false savior" elements of most alien flicks, humans duped into thinking they're "saved", but end up getting blasted or eaten or destroyed. I ended up at the world premiere of 'A Christmas Carol' last night in London and was less than 10 feet away, in the movie theatre, from the film's stars Jim Carrey, Colin Firth, and Bob Hoskins and the film's director -- somebody Zemeikis or something!! The movie was soooo good -- 3D and spectacular special effects. The story is the same, of course, but you go for the new twists. JC was so sweet and 'normal'.   - Yeah, it was pretty awesome -- unbeknowst to us, included in the price of the ticket, was the entrance WITH the stars ON the red carpet!!!! As it was, we got there a bit early (or I think actually, JC who was with Jenny McC, CF, and BH got there late), so WE walked the red carpet with all the fans crowded around both sides of the barriers and people screamed and yelled as WE walked through!!!     - I mean 'sinGs' the title track -- duh!! Like I said -- for us, this was TOTALLY unexpected! I had bought these tickets as a sort of 'donation' for the Great Ormond Street children's hospital. I worked at a similar pediatric hospital in the states and continue here to attend many events at the GOS and the Institute of Child Health. The whole day prior to the premiere, I was at a conference at the GOS, so I wasn't exactly dresses for the red carpet!!     - This is how they do it in Delmarva: I tried to take my kids to see a matinee of "Monsters Vs. Aliens" over the summer, and didn't realize it was in 3D. The tickets were already $8 (for a freakin' weekday matinee!), and the 3D movie was $3 EXTRA. Times 4 people. $44 to see one movie?? No thanks! And if I ever DO go see a 3D movie, I'm keeping the glasses, cuz I paid for 'em! (NT) -- The Chief (LOVE our local dollar theater! The wind is picking up and blowing the heavy rain against the house, sending a chill up your back. Looking out the windows does nothing to calm your nerves, the night is inky black, making it difficult to discern the source of the mournful sound that seems to come from....everywhere.

Dang, this is good night to watch old horror movies on Turner Classics. Boris Karloff...in the "Isle of the Dead"
I'd never seen it before, it was pretty good.

- There is an old classic movie called "The Uninvited" about a house that is haunted by the evil spirit of a long dead lady of the manor. Ray Miland was in this, can remember the name of the female lead. FINALLY got a chance to see the premier of a new series on "USA" (I think!--it's either USA or TNT--I switch between the two a LOT)--and was thoroughly impressed. If the series holds up to the promise of the premier, it will be smart, witty, and charming. (I really dig clever crime stories!) Did anybody else bother to catch it?

I saw a surprisingly topical play last night -- 'The Caucasian Chalk Circle' by Bertolt Brecht. Originally written in the 1940's by this communist, German playwright and poet, I was surprised at how hauntingly resonant his themes were to what's going on today in our 'democratic', 'free' capitalist society. Anyway, not to get too heavy politcal about it, it was refreshingly folksy, yet starkly dramatic, provocative, and very entertaining. I would recommend it if it surfaces in your local area.       - What was amazing to me was their blend and extremely tight vocals. Even on the fast songs, they stayed perfectly together and on pitch. The range of sounds was impressive as well. Not to mention the “beatboxing”. And all this while dancing and even “acting”. I was impressed because I know how much practice had to go into a performance like this and they nailed it! The group is three female singers (soprano, mezzo, and alto), three male singers (tenor, baritone, and bass), and two “beatbox” performers. I thought it was pretty cool! - Quite impressive and innovative. I did find their costumes a bit eerie -- reminded me a bit of that German group a few years back who were all painted blue and were all bald -- can't even think of the song they sang -- it was 'da'da or s'thing like that. Anyone watch Ugly Betty? I really enjoyed it. I've always loved the pathos behind the rediculous. It makes me feel for the characters, when they go from caricature to real. and back. I'm lovin' me some Grey's Anatomy! They're really developing the characters in a way that I can respect so much more than before! Not sure what to think about Izzy's story line, and hated George's passing, but other than that, I'm really liking the character development this season! Love how they're handling Arizona and Callie, and applauded until my hands hurt when Callie stood up to her dad quoting the bible verses to her!

- I believe Izzie's not in all the eps, so they need to find a way to get rid of her, though not permanently. I also like the way they are handling Arizona and Callie. I like Arizona, and loved the way she described her Dad, and how she spoke of Callie with such respect. I also liked the way she understood Callie's parents' position, instead of getting all militant. Callie had changed the rules and undermined the trust her father had. From the outside, Callie appeared to be flakey...perhaps flirting with being gay. Now she knows who she is, and it's her turn to be understanding. Loved this episode, even with the creepy(IMHO) Assistant Director FBI guy chasing Bones.(I already forgot his name)

Absolutely loved "The Mummy" movie clips.

I love Sweets as a character, he's funny and endearing, but I cant stand Daisy, for me her Ick factor is off the scale. Their makeup scene was worse than the worst Bud and Harriet scene ever. EEEWWWW!

I know alot of Bones fans are frustrated with the pace of getting Bones and Booth together, but to me this is just right. I loved the little touches at the end of the show, before they joined the others. That was perfect, we didnt get the kiss...but you know they both were going to...or at least thats what I thought.

  - I have to disagree, i can very easily see Jeremy shooting himself. It's a reality of ptsd and the army. Jeremy would shoot at something he's not angry he's depressed.         Again I have to disagree, what a more tragic and "meat" worthy storyline path to go down with Jeremy committing suicide due to ptsd. This is a very real problem in the military and has not yet been addressed. I also am glad they did what they did with Frank and Denise because it was very realistic of a couple dealing with the ramifications of an affair. On the Huffington Post (great place for political news/opinions, etc.--they just added a tab for recommended books, BTW)--I saw a news item where CBS has hired the writers of the new "Star Trek" movie (which has gotten rave reviews from old fans of Star Trek and new ones alike!) to write a script for, of all things, "Hawaii Five-O"!! Yikes!

I know I'm getting older and "Hawaii Five-O" was one of my favorites growing up (Thanks to Jack Lord--eye candy before there was such a term!), but it stands to reason they might not be adverse to a reunion show of JAG, don't ya think??

And, by the way, I wrote fan fiction for Hawaii-Five O long before I knew anybody else was doing anything like Fan Fiction. It's been so many years ago and so much has happen, I don't know whatever happened to those particular stories of mine, but I find it really ironic CBS would be bringing something like that back.

For months the Psyche USA webpage said it would be back in the fall, then announced a 10/9 season premiere date. It did, but it also had a promo saying that next Fri., 10/16 was the season finale. A 2 ep season? The web site has several other full eps icons shown, but I can't get them to play. Anybody know anything about this?

Also, I know a lot of folks don't like to even think about NCIS, but I watch it, mainly for MH who I've had a thing for since the 80's. Anyway, the web site says Tuesday nights, but I swear I saw a promo that said it was moving to Wednesdays, but I didn't catch when. Anybody have any intel on this one?

And why do the programers keep messing with the schedule? Don't they realize they lose viewers 'cause they can't find the show?? JMHO Any intel/insight/dish on these two things would be greatly appreciated.

I have just had the pleasure of going to see the Imperial Russian Ballet performing Swan Lake. I love this ballet, and it was done so well.   - Well it's all in the nuances. When I listen to Gwyneth Paltrow or Rene Zellwegger do a Brit accent, I know there is something wrong. They are very good, but the cadences are not right.         For me, Harm would phase in and out of his American vs. Canadian pronunciations and accents. Tonight's ep of Glee was awesome! It was just as good as the pilot ep, IMO. If you quit watching because the last two eps were only so-so, give it a second chance and check out tonight's ep. There was no rap or boy band stuff this time, thankfully. Instead we got an 80s power ballad, a current country song (can't remember the name, but I think it might have been a Gretchen Wilson song), and QUEEN! Yes, they finally did a Queen song! YAY! This was an ep I could definitely watch again. Oh, and Kristen Chenowith had a guest role tonight and she was amazing, as always! She even got to sing a duet with Matthew Morrison. I love hearing him sing, which isn't often enough since this show focuses more on the kids.

Next week looks like there will be some interesting twists in the storylines.

    - My problem with WAT was that it became the Jack & Samantha show. Jack was a jerk, & Samantha wasn't much better. There is no way Jack could continue to be the boss while having his affair with Samantha, not to mention that they started their affair while Jack was still married. The rest of the cast was marvelous, & very much underused and that was the biggest disappointment. Marianne Jean-Baptiste (IVivian) was so underutilized, as were the actors who played Martin and Danny, and all the focus was on Jack/Sam/Sam's baby. I know I'm a geek, but I just love 'Merlin' -- Colin Morgan (I think that's his name -- he plays Merlin) is sooooo cute. I watched a special about 'behind the scenes' making of the show and all the actors were so friendly and happy to be back on the set for Season 2 after having the summer off. Their enthusiasm and youthful exhuberance is contagious and it shows in their acting. It's filmed at a real castle in France and it's such a refreshing way to depict this type of genre. - Okay, I had to look this up because I had never heard about it, probably because it is British. But, I did find that it aired on NBC over the summer. I'm surprised DH didn't watch it because it sounds more like his kind of thing than mine. I wonder if NBC will air season 2 next summer. Now that they are doing this whole "time-sharing" thing with their schedule, some of their regular shows may be pushed into the summer and they may not have space for an imported show. - The DH and I watch this show and love it. I first watched Shemar Moore on Young and the Restless and I was glad to see him on this show. I still miss Mandy Patinkin but will eventually get used to Joe Mantegna. Loved Thomma Gibson on Dharma and Greg and again was glad to see him on this show.     - There were a couple of places where I had to look away. About the cats. Bones said they were feral. But if that were the case, they would have all run away when all those people got there. We've had some feral cats in our neighborhood, and they scram when they even *see* a person. Those cats eating the body were definately domesticated. - NCIS was awsome, looking forward to the rest of the season, however I was disappointed the with spinoff. - Funny thing is that I kept comparing the story to the JAG flashbacks and found this story lacking. I liked the idea, but there was something about the telling of it that didn't draw me in the way that Ghosts of Christmas Past or Each of Us Angels did. Now that I think about it, maybe it was lack of Harm. LOL. That being said, the character that really threw me was Frank! At first, I didn't recognize him. - I loved last nights episode for what it was, a story about how Army wives coped during WWII. There was alot of tradtion woven into the way the wives saw things, that made it very authentic for me. It was a lesson in what was great about the US back then & what still needed to be corrected. Pam's 1940's counterpart broke my heart, she was great. AND I have to say, after 'Dale' was killed. I was kinda hoping we'd see CB's 'Hazel' at the very end of the ep.,find a guy who really looked familiar waiting in the wings for her, even if it was a one shot cameo, it would have been awesome. - For me it was compelling and entertaining.I love that its not just any flashback but it gives some background of Fort Marshall and it ties in to the present from the hump bar,Betty and it was like full circle to see a pregant Pam kinda like the pregnancy in the pilot ep. I love how consistent AW is with their eps. plus audiences enjoy it and ratings agree and critics loved it.The only missing factor is any Emmy.
