[> I know who they kill off; I'll post it inside if anyone wants to be spoiled. What did you think of the episode? They're changing the direction of the series this season, less episodic and more serialized, meaning many fewer clients of the week & more about Michael's enemies and bringing them down. I think it's going to be more emotional & dark. You don't take away someone Michael loves without "hell raining down upon you!" It was nice to see that he can actually say the words "I love you," even if it was to... -- doc, 22:17:29 06/17/12 Sun [1]

...his mother, not the love of his life. Oh well, another time. This show has been such a great journey of Michael finding his soul, his humanness and attachments/emotions. He tried to hide from then for so long. I love what Matt Nix (producer) is doing with this show!!!

The character who is killed is Michael's brother Nate.

[> [> Thanks, doc!! I have to agree with you on the direction of the show. I read up a little in TV Guide and am impressed with the whole picture. I really think there is a lot of darkness with Michael and I'm hoping to find out more about Fiona whom I adore. -- jenks, 09:49:33 06/18/12 Mon [1]

****SPOILER *****SPOILER****

6 total episodes, including the premiere last week.

I've started writing a Burn Notice fanfic, which takes place about 5 years in the future. I'll be posting it on Fanfiction.net. If you want to follow a Burn Notice message board, I read through the one on the USA channel's website. For the most part, the poster are very nice. There are a couple folks who live in Miami who have been able to get some info & pics. Another person is somehow industry related & gives small bits of info about casting & general episode summaries. Also, I'm pretty sure Matt Nix (the producer) follows some of the posts from fans. He's tried to incorporate some of the fan suggestions into the show. What a change from DPB who didn't want to listen to anyone!!! Also I think Burn Notice has stomped on the Moonlighting curse. They have been able to put the 2 main characters together & still keep the sexual tension and interest. I LOVE Michael & Fi!!!!

[> [> [> [> Thanks for all your info!! I'll check the Burn Notice message board at USA. I love these sites. You are correct about the Mooonlighting curse as far as I'm concerned. I think their relationship and closeness just adds more fuel to the fire and the show. Fiona is so intense and the mixture of love, humor and trust goes a long way to the show's success. -- jenks-thinking about poor Fiona, 14:52:56 06/18/12 Mon [1]

[> I'm sick of Anson & that whole storyline. Tired of Anson always outwitting Michael, & in the premiere Anson is suddenly physically stronger than Michael? Give me a break! All the other villians had a one up on Michael at times, but never ALWAYS outsmarted him ALL the time. I'm ready for Anson to go (can't stand Jere Burns) & would love for the team to get back to what they do best...helping people. Tired of all the never-ending darkness, caused by Anson. -- JenniferM, 19:00:13 06/19/12 Tue [1]

[> [> I'm afraid you're going to be disappointment then. He is a main part of the story line for the first 1/2 of the season. He is supposed to be... (inside) -- doc, 22:43:09 06/19/12 Tue [1]

...the author & creator of the machine that burned Michael. He is the one who thought the whole thing up and has run it for years & years without detection. It wouldn't make a lot of sense that Michael could so easily topple him. If one spy, even if that spy is Michael, could out Anson & bring him down without much effort, it wouldn't make much sense that he (Anson) could create this huge evil network. After all, he is responsible for Carla, Victor, Simon and Vaughn. It took Michael an entire season, give or take a few episodes, to being each of them down. If Anson was able to manipulate & train each of them, it wouldn't be realistic for Michael to easily topple him.

Besides, Anson isn't a "physical" strength, he's a psychotic mastermind. He is a psychiatrist who is an expert at manipulating people & getting them to do what he wants. He researched Michael for years, took in his unsuspecting folks for details, and knew how to get to Michael's Achille's heel. Even Dead Larry, who knew Michael incredible well, didn't know how to really get to Michael. You "get to" Michael, through those he loves, specifically Fiona. The fact that Anson was brilliant enough to manipulate and pull Larry into the Embassy heist, to draw Michael & Fi into his plan was inspired. Think about it, Anson knew Fi would NEED to rescue Michael, AND he was smart enough to know exactly how (explosives), so he could set her up for murder. He knew to name his fictional "Claire," to further spur on Fiona's emotions. He knew Michael would go to any length to keep Fi safe. What he didn't count on was Fiona turning herself in, which will ultimately be his downfall.

All that to say, I think it would be anticlimactic if Michael easily toppled the head of this evil machine. I think the current storyline is brilliant. This season is going to be much more emotional & dark, as Michael pursues Anson & then deals with the fallout of bringing him down.

I liked the first few seasons, with the gang helping those in need. The problem with continuing along that path was that the writers were running out of ideas for "realistic" cases for the gang to assist. They started repeating story lines, while changing a few details, names & people. I think it will be interesting to watch the Westin vs. Anson story line play out. I want to see what becomes of the Michael-Fi-Sam-Maddie-Jessie future story. I for one hope Michael's story doesn't end with Anson. I want to see what comes next. I suspect next will be the fallout from Michael's actions in pursuit of Anson and the consequences of a death, which will occur prior to the end of the summer season.

[> [> [> Yeah I already know I'm going to be disappointed, which is probably why my Burn Notice days are limited. Michael has been dealing with Anson for over a season now, & its time for him to go. Even when Dead Larry, Simon, Gilroy, Carla, & oh gosh who was the guy that Michael figured out had a daughter at boarding school??? Anyway, even with all of these masterminds, they never ever continually had the upper hand on Michael, something that currently is ALWAYS afforded to Anson. Inside.... -- JenniferM, 23:23:47 06/20/12 Wed [1]

Sorry maybe my feelings on Jere Burns the actor is clouding my feelings, but Anson is such a creep, & I am tired after over a season, of him continually winning...

The fact that in the opener he beat Michael in a physical confrontation was just horse hockey! Of course there will be ramifications once (and hopefully soon) Michael takes Anson out. There's going to be ramifications once Fee gets out of prison, how do she and Michael work their way back to each other?

I just miss the old team dynamic, there aren't anymore light-hearted or fun moments, its all dark & depressing thanks to the never ending Anson story arc. I confess I miss the old Burn Notice, and am very sorry that Anson is going to continue....

Hope you do enjoy it, I guess my Thursday nights have just freed up. Thanks for the info, you saved me some disappointment knowing Anson is going to be around for a while :)

Have a good one!

[> [> [> [> You must really hate Anson, his character has morphed into more than one season, LOL! Truth is, Anson wasn't introduced until the second 1/2 of last season & was in only 7 episodes. He debuted in "Dead to Rights," when Larry came back. As to him "physically" beating Michael, Michael's mind was on other things (friends, Fi), plus he needs to take Anson "alive," so he can prove Fi isn't responsible for the bombing of the whole building & killing the guards. It would've been easy to kill him, either Fi with the sniper rifle or Michael last week, but neither event would vindicated Fi. -- doc, 09:30:51 06/21/12 Thu [1]

[> [> [> [> [> I can honestly say doc that I DETEST the Anson character. I forget BN's seasons are split, 1/2 & 1/2, but it sure seems like Anson has been around for a lot longer than 7 episodes. I just miss the original premise, & hate the fact that Michael CAN NEVER get one up on Anson, he's ALWAYS ahead. And now it appears that in order to take Anson down, there will be a death (someone close to Michael) which means even though Anson gets his, he still WINS by hurting Michael. Just don't care for it, & again I hope you guys like it but I don't think I'll stick around. Anson ruins the show for me... -- JenniferM, 16:35:29 06/21/12 Thu [1]

[> [> [> [> [> [> If I let everything I didn't like about a show ruin it for me, then there would have been a LOT of unwatched shows, including JAG. I'd rather go with the writers and see where it takes me. I've said numerous times, I'm not going to watch this anymore, but I'm drawn back to a show because of specific characters and the fact that I like their qualities. I love Michael's qualities and I'll hang in there to see him take down Anson. Don't want to miss the action and know that Fi and Michael WILL be together again. -- jenks, 07:47:03 06/23/12 Sat [1]
