It's all here!
Movies! TV Shows! Books! Music!
This is the place to discuss books, movies, music and tv shows other then JAG. This is your board! The structure is fairly loose but because not everyone watches the same tv shows, please limit discussion to one thread per episode.
We welcome your ideas on how this board should go. This is moderated the same as the HarmyBoard.

Hope, you are enjoying music the way you are supposed to. As JJ says, you probably know you like or don't like something but don't know exactly why. I am not trained in music at all, which is why I defer to JJ for technical things (not of course for subjective reactions.) But it is in my nature to pull things apart to see how they are made, which is why I went into English criticism. I need to know WHY I am irritated.....LOL. Those who know me accuse me of "overthinking," because I do this with everything. (Inside.) -- Cece, 18:18:38 04/19/09 Sun

Put it this way JJ, Cecilia ain't a Celine fan...LOL. When Titanic came out, I thought my ears would bleed every time that 'song' came on. My heart wanted to go on, and keep going....right out of sound range! (NT) -- Cece, 18:59:08 04/18/09 Sat
That counts me out as I love Bwy musicals. You didn't read, or didn't understand my posts. For the record, I'm perfectly capable of judging vocal qualities without having to like the music. I even like Susan's Scottish accent, and Julie Andrew's high Cs, (sadly, her voice is now badly damaged after surgery.) In fact, I have a wide taste in music...opera, classical, 20thc Art music, jazz, blues, big band, brass band, rock, hillybilly, R&B,stage, hiphop, alt/indie, reggae, sacred, folk, lute, flute, lyre, oboe, and Gregorian Chant. Still don't like Celine Dion. (NT) -- Cece, 23:10:50 04/18/09 Sat

These dances started out by being art forms, I believe, with groups of people suddenly standing still like statues. The dance ones are T-Mobile advertisement, and there are a number of them in the UK, Eur. and the US. The bystanders can join in, but the vast majority have rehearsed. I'd love to be in one of these. It looks like so much fun. Check out the other youtubes. Different places, and different songs.. (NT) -- Cece...anything that makes a break from grim reality, is great in my book!, 23:05:30 04/14/09 Tue

You know I usually hate Britain's Got Talent (and American's got talent.) But this is the second time a homely looking singer has shocked everyone. The first one was Paul Potts singing Nessun Dorma. I didn't like the song this woman was singing, but she has a great voice and it was such a surprise. (Btw, she looks a lot older than 48. It must be her particular style.) Also, I know what the Brits are like, and I can tell you now, this is the last time Susan Boyle will be a poor, ordinary woman. They will vote for her to win, and she will become a millionaire like PP. Wow...what a great story. I loved her sense of humour and she seems so sweet. (NT) -- Cece, 21:00:08 04/13/09 Mon

Try this from the AI site. The sound quality is clearer than some of the youtubes. The judges didn' t comment, but they all gave him a standing O. The live version is better than the studio version, imo, but the studio version is better quality.
