Did anyone watch Bones? I love the ending. Booth and Bones are spending alot more time together and he again was explaining the 'mystery of life - that love matters even though that loved one may leave you. It is all worth it'. Brennan's expression tells me that she is getting it and she has these feelings for Booth that she is just discovering that when she feels emotion it is all about Booth. Meanwhile, Booth is teaching her about life and love and that he wants that life and love to be with him. -- Boston Tiger, 09:46:06 04/24/09 Fri [37]

- You're right, but the episode seemed more visually grisly than usual and I wasn't in the mood for that.   - It didn't bother me. I seem to remember grosser things in the past. What bothered me the most in the history of Bones was last time when she stuck the needle in the dead guy's eye. I looked away when I realized what was going to happen. I didn't even see it and I totally had the willies and had to stop and leave the room. But I've always had a sort of eye phobia, so maybe that's why that bothered me so much. Freud would say I subconsiously remember my eye surgery as a baby. - This episode gave me some substance of why Bones is going to ask Booth to father a child for her. I think she sees everyone able to love so unconditionally and she wants to try it hence I can see her asking Booth to have a child together. Instead of starting a relationship with him she will go straight for having a kid. At least that is my feeling.   - Do you also think that the child is her way of keeping (a part of) Booth with her? The ending in the previous ep (Double Death) had her mentioning that she lives her life more if she can do it through his eyes? I think that was foreboding as well. He wants her to remember him, she needs him to feel herself complete. A child of him would give her '(a part of)him' with her all the time. - I haven't seen the ep yet. I am never bothered about the gore. What bothers me is seeing violence inflicted on live people. Then I have to turn away. - I agree about the gore this time...but the episode was good, it was sad in places, and funny in others. Sweets is an absolute hoot, but we saw his tender side too. I liked the back story between Booth and the murdered girl's brother. I also liked the window into Japanese culture. - Reading all the comments on several boards, I just HAD to see the ep so I downloaded it (and the 3 before that) and well...they sure sucked me in. Liked the 'case' too. Gore doesn't bother me either. I watch Dr G whenever I can, and all the other real life trauma and Er shows. Anyway....After 4 years, I am a TV series shipper again. B&B have pulled me in! - Bones, who is usually portrayed as insensitive, seemed to have exactly the right responses to the Japanese characters on last night's show. I'm not sure if it came from Booth's friendship with the brother or if she is slowly beginning to react to different situations or was she aware of the Japanese cultural differences? Tonight's Chuck -- JAG Junkie (Ronda)--I haven't felt this way since the preview for the JAG finale!, 22:17:22 04/20/09 Mon [26]
OMG!!! I knew this ep was going to have "game-changing" plot twists, and many of us had actually already predicted all the biggies that we saw tonight, but I still have to say that tonight's ep was...AWESOME!!! That's probably why zachary-levi.com crashed tonight. It couldn't handle all the crazed fans! LOL

Since Chuck is on the bubble, I REALLY hope that tonight's airing of Bones didn't totally kill Chuck's ratings. I guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow night to watch Bones because I still have a lot of stuff to do for the desperate "Save Chuck" campaigns. If you love Chuck and don't want to be left hanging after next week's "game-changing" cliffhanger, contact NBC on their website, write snail mail letters to NBC (better than email), watch Chuck online even if you've already seen the eps, preorder season 2 on Amazon, go vote in all the online polls, send Nerds (the candy, not the people) to NBC execs, and eat at Subway next Monday. And be prepared to start begging other networks to pick up the show if NBC ignores us. I'll be sooo upset if Chuck gets cancelled

- "Chuck" is one of my favorite shows. It's fun, it's clever and up until tonight, totally "safe" as in predictably unpredictably funny. I couldn't believe all the "game changing" twists they had on the ep tonight. (No spoilers, please) But if you haven't seen it, go to NBC.com to take a look. It was a blast. - It has been reported that watching episodes online is what is killing primetime television. I have to watch Bones so i'm guilty here. apparently by tivo-ing, DVR-ing and watching streming video online it takes away from the see it now ratings and coveted demos. Fewer people are watching things when they air and are opting to record or watch online. Apparently TPTB havent figured out a way to tally all of those people and include it in the ratings yet.   - I think I read somewhere that TiVo views are counted if they are watched with 24 hours. Don't know if that's true or not. Even if I watch a show "live" I still watch it from my Now Playing list, because by the time I pause for breaks, rewind to watch funny scenes over and over, and rewind to catch dialogue I didn't understand, I'm finishing the show more than 30 minutes after it ended. Since the TiVo only keeps a live memory of 30 minutes, I have to watch it from the recording. Otherwise, I'd end up switching to the recording anyway because I'd get so far behind.         Exactly. The networks are so hung up on the young demographic but they don't seem to realize that their system is broken. The networks need advertising revenues, the advertisers want to target the young viewers, and the young viewers are mostly watching online or skipping through the commercials. - I am wondering how they could make another season if Chuck doesn't have the intersect anymore and Morgan is off somewhere else. The two friends make a big part of the show. Maybe the government would ask his father to put it back so he could work more missions. I really hated Casey for most of the show. How cold hearted he was. I am glad that he made good at the end. It sure did feel like they were tying everything up in a neat little package to end the show. Maybe something positive will happen in the finale next week that will give us hope for a renewel.         According to tv sqaud we won't see the fall lineup until next month on the network upfronts. Chuck is definitely considered on the bubble. I have read quite a few different things where people are doing everything they can to get Chuck renewed. We had two eps of Bones this past week and I can't believe no one has said anything about them yet!

There were some great Bones/Booth moments in both eps. And Gordon Gordon was back! Yay! Although I'm sad that he's retiring. I guess they could still pull him out of retirement in future eps, so that doors not totally closed.

Don't forget that there is another Bones ep Monday night at 8:00. It's opposite what promises to be a very shippery ep of Chuck, and I'm not happy at all that Chuck, which is "on the bubble", is going to have to compete with Bones during such a crucial time in its life. Grrr!

So what did everyone think about Bones last week?

  - I thought that too that it was Booth fighting it but then yes the title change makes it point to the writers saying it is Bones. I think this is going to the last of Angela and Hodgins, and I'm glad. I dont want to see Angela leave the show, I'd like to see her grow as a character but I think Hodgins and Angela have been all played out...I may be wrong...we'll see. Did anyone watch the extra ep of Bones last night. It was a silly ep with some shippery moments. Booth dancing and singing was hilarious. Even though it was an ok episode I just wish the show stayed with the same tone as Season 1 with JMJ - a bit more serious and more realistic than the liberties the show is into now. -- BT, 16:03:48 04/21/09 Tue [13]

We can�t necessarily detect problems with these or other things within a song and just listen for the enjoyment. So by now, everyone from China to Timbuktu has seen and heard Susan Boyle. She's had 20 million youtube hits, and been on every day time show on US tv, including Larry King, Oprah, the View etc. Let's face it, hers is such a feel good story: plain little choir lady, with not much luck in her life, becomes an overnight world wide singing sensation. The fact that she is so nice and down to earth, makes us all feel weepy and happy.

Well yeah...me too. Except for one, huge, glaring thing that everyone is happy to overlook: she's not that good. Also, she's not that special. There are millions of plain, ordinary choir members with voices like angels. I was taught by nuns, who spent no time on physical appearance. But when they sang in church, their voices were clear, bel canto, pure.

IMO, Susan Boyle's voice verges on harsh, although she undoubtedly can belt out the type of song that I find painful to listen to. I truly hate that particular genre (My Heart Will Go On....accckkk, etc.) But there is no way she could make it on Broadway or the West End. That won't stop her from getting earth shattering recording sales, and it won't stop Simon Cowell from adding to his bazillions. But like Paul Potts before her, she will succeed on the public's voracious need for "feel good" mediocrity.

I believe the world wants the Paul Potts and Susan Boyles to do well. Most of us identify more with the plain, the poor, and the sad underachiever. And frankly, we get just a little bit sick of the pretty, young, spoiled, brats like Britney and Miley, having it seemingly so easy.

But what I don't like is our acceptance of mediocrity and calling it brilliant, particularly when there are truly talented people out there who work hard just to get in the chorus line off off off Broadway.

Having said all that, I love it that Susan Boyle is going to cash in, even if her fame is short lived. This lovely little woman and her kitty Pebbles, need to be plucked from obscurity once in a while. It makes a delightful change from the evil, cheating Bernie Madoffs of the world, and their greedy, grasping families. Susan Boyle has captured the imagination of the world with her sweetness, and self-deprecating humour. She has brought us joy, and for that, she deserves every break she gets.

I sing in the choir at a large church, and through the years we have had lots of normal unassuming people come through and surprise us with amazing voices, and none of them ever get any recognition beyond the congregation. I'm thrilled papers across the world are talking about her - praising her gift.

But I think headline ticked me off - I found it offensive and almost an invasion of privacy, even though the truth of it can only be assumed from her own words. Headline from the Vancouver Sun:

I mean really - it's one thing to call her a spinster - which I find a tad impolite - but what the heck does the status of her 'virtue' have to do with her voice?

- I agree with you that the headline was offensive and you were right to complain, but I'll also point out that oftentimes the journalist on a paper doesn't write the headline. They write the story and then a copy editor reviews the story and adds the headline. Also if this was a "wire story" (ie from the Associated Press or other international newsgathering service), the story may have been dropped into their paper as it was received. - This was a promo for the Belgian (Flemish) promotion of The Seach for Maria for the musical The Sound Of Music, broadcase by Tv channel VTM. The musical soon will come to Belgium (a production by a dutch producer Albert Verlinde) and they are now searching a woman for the lead role of Maria. This was part of the promo to advertise the TV program, in central train station of Antwerp. It is a set up of 200 performers who were there to do this dance, and stunn everyone who was at the Central station at the time. - I dont watch Chuck but it seems to me NBC cant afford to lose another one of its scripted shows. With L&O SVU renewed for season 11 they are threatening to oust Chris and Mariska, so that will kill its highest rated scripted show. It was frikkin' amazing. Wowowowow!!! So haunting. I love Adam. He has a great voice. Though he can be over the top and campy, he knows how to hold back. I'd love to see him do Queen's Under Pressure. He has the falsetto to do it justice.

I love Matt and Alison, and I am so over Danny and Lil. The former is unoriginal and unexciting, and the latter just falls flat week after week. Plus, she won't take any advice from the judges. Too bad. Her voice is great, but her song choices are way off.

For those who don't watch AI, this is contestant Adam Lambert, a kind of glam rocker I guess. This is him singing when he was 22, in Brigadoon. If you are a vocal expert, you maybe able to tell if his voice or timing is off. But I can't. Sounds perfect to me. I'd rather have him singing Mad World, which totally knocked me out, but oh my, the last note in this song is unbelievable.

I posted this below but I don't think anyone saw it. All I can say is, WOW! This guy has major pipes. Cute as all get out too.Click here. JAGjunkie, I'd be interested in your opinion too, as you are a musician.

Everyone has their likes and dislikes, but these two books were really intriguing for me.

The Shack - Wm. Paul Young

I bought this one because I read about how the author basically published out of his garage for the first 100,000 copies. This deals, in a new way, with the age old question, 'Why do bad things happen to good people? Where is God when these things happen? I have to say this isnt a religious book, and it may turn your concept of God on its ear, but it is well worth the read.

Time Is a River - May Alice Monroe

I picked this one up on a whim and was profoundly moved by the main character's journey. Anyione who has had their lives turned upside down by illness or suffered something so profound it changes your own concept of yourself...this book is a journey with a message of hope.
