I just read somewhere, the NCIS producers are looking to cast an actor to play the Admiral father of McGee (Sean Murray) for a few storylines on NCIS. I think it would be cool is DJE got this role! -- mj, 13:40:02 11/28/12 Wed [27]

- MJ, I think that's an interesting idea. It won't happen.Because of the hard feelings between Don and DJE. I never felt that NCIS caused the end of JAG. I thought it was the bad writing and bad feeling between Don and DJE during the last 2 seasons of JAG that ruined the show. They should have ended JAG ins Season 8 and been done. IMHO!! Do you think they are setting up Avery and April to be the next power couple? What are your thoughts on Christina and Owen? I'm so glad Arizona is feeling more complete and getting her career focus back, even if it's just a little. Bailey as always was her brilliant self.

- I do think they are setting up April and Avery. If I had to look at Avery's eyes for a full hour, it would be a blessing. I think they make a great couple and I loved Avery's concern about the test messages from his mom. Now, Christina and Owen might just get back together. I have to say I like the way he's dealing with Christina at this point in time. He obviously, inho, still cares about her. Good for Bailey on her quest to get Arizona back into action. - I liked Christina and Owen - an "opposites attract" kind of couple - I hoep they work it out. As for Avery and April, shrug - she needs to buckle down and prepare to pass her Boards, the virgin-no-more has gotten tiresome, but Avery's scenes with Richard were great. Bailey - yes, brilliant in getting Arizona interested in something other than feeling sorry for herself. - As for a power couple, not sure but love that they are getting more screen time. Owen and Chang needs to be over and I think that the boiling point will come out when it is dicovered that he didnt know for hours that they were missing. I am so loving Callie this season, Sara Martinez needs to win something as she has been the one to deal with alot of stuff this season. Her small breakdowns that I think are heading to a big one. how much does the cover have to reflect the story?

Do you care if the heroine is a blonde and the cover is a brunette?

Do you care if there's only one scene at a beach and the rest of the story is in a city , but the cover is a beutiful beach scene?

If the book is a series - do you care if the covers are similar?

Do you want to immediately recognize it's part of a series by the cover?

- I really expect the cover of the book to represent something about the story inside. If the hero/ine is on the cover, he/she should look somewhat like the description (especially hair color!). If that cannot be accomplished, something symbolic or related non-human imagery should be used. - Depends on what kind of book I�d like to read? Mostly Iike abstract covers best. Since I read mostly fiction, I don�t really want to see real people on the cover, I�d rather imagine. Water color pastorals or country look - hmm, depends, again, on what kind of book it is. Mostly, the cover needs to fit the story. I�m more drawn to titles rather than covers.   - I agree with Jam. I am more drawn to titles rather than covers. Most authors don't get much say in the cover art of their books. Deanna Raybourn and her fans both complained that the reprinted covers of her Lady Julia books didn't fit the feisty main character. If I had just looked at the cover I would not have read her books. - I read Star Trak stuff so you see alot of artisitic covers with either just the ship or various crew members, and I read romance novels and those have gone more in the way of real pics, I like what the others said, I like abstract to where you create the picture in your head of what they all look like. I think thats why books to movies bomb, besides cutting out so much of the book is what we have seen in our minds and hearts isnt translated well. The same is if you reversed FF, we all know what the leads look like and any changes in that loses a reader. - I love covers. I love the feel of a smooth, mat finish. I prefer an artistic rendition rather than a photo, but if a photo, I like it soft focus or blurred and mysterious. I like soft colours. I don't like garish blood splatter, or Fabio looking men with long hair and muscles. I want the cover to invite me inside to the mystery, espionage, or romance that awaits. - Standing in front of bookshelves or racks, in the library or in a store, I look first for the author - I have many favorites -mostly mystery series. If I look at the cover, I like one that is reflective of the title. It can be photo, painting, rendering. But, I really look more at the author, title and flyleaf or back cover synopsis.   - I know this makes no sense, but I'm a tactile person. If a cover looks intriguing, I'll pick up the book, and run my hands over the smooth surface. The title doesn't say much, so then I'll look at the synopsis. Then I go to the first line. If I don't like the writing, then the rest doesn't matter. However, I hate reading someone else's old, tattered book. The esthetics are important to me: taste, touch, smell, sight, sound (whichever ones are relevent.) - I was totally confused until quite a long way into the story. Usually, time line altering is affective as it reveals the incidents gradually. It works particularly well with mysteries. I'm not so sure it was affective here at all, particularly with all the jumping about. Still, it filled in a lot of gaps. - I am like many - liked and disliked it. I was really wanting to see and hope we will see the folks at Mercy when they found out the plane had crashed. I mean all of them were at the Oregon hospital and why did Baily have baby Grey? I also would have liked a little more of pre-healed. now I did like the drama that will surround Arizona, Carev and Calli.   - I think we'll see Callie break down eventually. She made the decision to amputate, though Alex did the actual cutting. Also, Callie has lost a very close friend, former lover, and her baby's father. Her wife is going through a horrible trauma, and is going to be unforgiving for a long time. Also, she may have botched the surgery on Derick's hand. Everything was going perfectly until Alex interrupted her, and she had to make a terrible decision. I feel so bad for Callie and what she is dealing with and the plot for Arizona if played out right should be some awesome scene time for the actress playing her and how she deals with everything.   - I don't think Arizona has PTS. I think she is suffering from the shock and horror of losing a limb under any circumstances, particularly as she thinks, rightly or wrongly, that there was another way. So what did everyone think. Felt a little rushed and convenient to get Bones back. But good to have her back.

Why wasn't Booth looking into the same thing that Bones and her dad were, Pelant's past. That would seem standard procedure.

Obviously Booth is upset just not voicing it so will be interesting how that plays out.

I decided to try it and it wasnt too bad. I think that they could have done some more set up with the premire episode to give us some more family bonding but I guess that is going to be done via flashbacks.

I also wish that I could find someone I had never met that fast in a post Apocalyptic world. And I never remember ever having 3 to 4 gallons of ice cream in my freezer. I was also laughing at the one big fight scene, it reminded me of Kill Bill vol 1.

In some ways this was to me a version of the show from last season from Fox where they went back in time and lived with the dinosaurs but this time the dinosaurs arent there. Plus the show must have stolen footage from Discoveries show Life after people..

If teh show is to survive it needs to charater develope quickly or it will be a on season and gone

We are talking going back to the early 1900's and all the world was thriving at that time. They have to do a lot of work on this plot to make this story work. IMHO! Wasnt that a kick in the teeth? I mean to give an ending where you may never find out what happened? I was like really, you mean to tell me after 6 yrs of watching you end the show with that.....ggrrrrrrrrr.

I figure that there will be at least a 2 hr made for tv movie closing things out, at least I hope, would perfer a total season but will take 8 to 10 episodes.

- CB said earlier that they were waiting to be renewed. Several people have speculated that the plane did not go down, but that maybe something happened to Claudia Joy or the Holdon's daughter. There is a new series coming on "Last Resort". I could picture HAE on this show. In fact I could picture him in alot of quality shows but nothing is happening. I think part of it was he wanted a break for a while, to spend time with his kids, and hoping not to be typecast so maybe he turned down a few things right after JAG was over. And it could have been that studios were hesitant to cast him because he was too recognizable as Harm and viewers wouldn't picture him as anything else. - An actor with a good agent gets auditions. Whether or not an actor books the audition is another thingf entirely. Just because he once had a hit show doesnt mean people are standing in line to give him a role. IMO some bad decisions were made on his part when it came to auditioning for stuff he didnt fit. Death of Marvin Hamlisch -- Araninda, 13:38:54 08/07/12 Tue [8]
Composer and songwriter Marvin Hamlisch has died. One of only eleven people to have been awarded Emmys, Grammys, Oscars, AND a Tony.

He leaves behind such beautiful music. "The Entertainer", "The Way We Were", "A Chorus Line", "Nobody Does it Better" from the James Bond movie "The Spy Who Loved Me", and so many others. I think my favorite Marvin Hamlisch song is "The Last Time I Felt Like This" from the movie and play "Same Time, Next Year."

- actually - I liked season 7 - We got rid of Mic and Rene and settled back into Harm and Mac as a team.   - I liked S 7 too, but I didn't like the way they did the follow through after "Come to me." Some episodes were good in every season, except the second half of S10 which I hated with the white hot intensity of a 1000 suns. Btw, Adrift 1 was, imo, the best episode in the way it was crafted. We can discuss the actual athletic events on the Sports board, but there's a LOT more to the Olympics than the actual games. There is personal drama, there is fashion drama, there is a lot of "entertainment value" to be had.

- He lost me with the boy-girl section but other than that it was wonderful. I loved the lighting of the Olympic cauldron. The idea of using the each country's individual cauldron to make up the Olympic cauldron was unique and so olympic.
