Subject: looking better than I thought for GCB

watched the episode last night - and while it was the easiest to watch (though that last bit with donna mills struck me as a bit insensitive) I still had my doubts about the renewability of this show but found the following online about the ratings - it's pretty encouraging:

"For the 3rd week in a row, ABC’s GCB (2.2/6) registered as the No. 1 series in the 10:00 p.m. hour in Adults 18-49, beating out the second hour of NBC’s 2-hour “Celebrity Apprentice” by 5% (2.1/5) and CBS’ “The Good Wife”/”CSI: Miami” combo by 10% (2.0/5). Additionally, for the 4th straight week, the new ABC drama earned the No. 1 broadcast position in its slot with Adults 18-34 and key Women (W18-34/W18-49).

GCB grew week to week by 7% in Total Viewers (6.5 million vs. 6.1 million) and by 10% in Adults 18-49 (2.2/6 vs. 2.0/5), while hitting series highs in Adults 18-34 and key Women (W18-34/W18-49)."

We all know how networks feel about those 20 year olds!! LOL. Go DJE!!

anyone find anything different?

Anyone taking a liking to any of the characters yet?

[> I watched it last night. I have taken to the main character. And I love Annie Potts. But on the whole it's still silly. I think that is the reason I'm still watching it. It's brain fluff. I don't have to think and I don't get involved. If I fall a sleep oh well! -- Cathy F. DJE is great to look at!!, 10:38:21 03/27/12 Tue [1]

[> [> I'm thinking Annie Potts and her daughter may be the only two likeable characters on the show- I sure hope it's enough to keep everyone tuning in - I'd really like to see DJE get a second season of SOMETHING - LOL -- chris k, 05:06:36 03/28/12 Wed [1]

[> Of course I'm watching because of Ripp, but I thought the funniest thing was when Carlene jumped up on the coffee table so Ripp would have to look up to her when she talked to him. I'm enjoying Ripp and Carlene's relationship, and I also think that Annie Potts is doing great in her role. -- Lee, 12:13:00 03/27/12 Tue [1]

[> [> that was funny- I think that was the first time I realized just how much the creators intended to 'play' on the huge height difference between them. You had to know they had something in mind when they pick a six foot four man to link up with CC. -- chris k, 05:04:27 03/28/12 Wed [1]

[> GCB is certainly bringing out the 'fun' sides of the actors; think they're all having a wonderful time entertaining us! Of course, DJE is my sole purpose for watching -- were they aviator sun glasses he had on with big 'ole hat? Haven't seen Bruce Boxlightner (sp?) lately and was shocked to see he has gone grey! Donna Mills was a hoot! Recognized voices from another room LOL! Sorta looks like 'Dallas' and 'Dynasty' just might have collided......Hope writers, etc., keep on bringing in the 'oldie but goodie' actors -- carramor, 12:28:53 03/27/12 Tue [1]

[> [> Bruce Boxleitner has actually been grey a while. He is almost 62, after all. I guess we're all just getting older faster than we would like. :-( -- JAG Junkie (Ronda), 20:29:43 03/27/12 Tue [1]

[> [> [> You're right. With packing out this house I've been in for the past 35 years, I feel (and probably look) 107 -- I hide my grey though its the 'laugh lines' that give me away.....LOL -- carramor, 22:41:48 03/27/12 Tue [1]

[> [> [> [> [> I thought the same thing the other night when I saw Kathy Bates - I think stars who have allowed themselves to gradually age gracefully look SO much better - Katherine Hepburn comes to mind - vs say- joan rivers - OY!! -- chris k, 13:51:00 03/28/12 Wed [1]

[> [> [> [> [> [> Yes to all. We've 'known' them most of our lives (for those of us mature folks), and if they're brave enough to show what they've got, then we should do likewise (but, I'll still hide the grey stuff). LOL -- carramor, 21:23:36 03/28/12 Wed [1]

[> Carramor - when anyone mentions "laugh lines" I always think of Little House on the Prairie" when they all moved to the "City" and Mrs. Olsen was working in the Restaurant and the girl said she had something to take away "crows feet" and Mrs. Olsen said they were laugh lines. the girl says nothings that funny. I LMAO. -- Cathy F. there was no one like Michael Landon, 19:20:16 03/28/12 Wed [1]
