Subject: Davy Jones

I just heard that Davy Jones of The Monkees died this morning from a heart attack. I feel like a little part of my childhood died, too. I remember having every Monkees single and album. Davy Jones' picture was on my closet door in my bedroom and I just couldn't read enough about him. He was just 66 years old. That is only 10 years older than me. May God bless and watch over his family and provide comfort. Rest in peace.

[> I thought the same thing, I had every album the Monkees made, watched there TV show (I think they were the first music videos ever). Even had a shoe box full of the bubblegum cards. All of the sudden I am feeling very old. -- usmgrad, 17:39:00 02/29/12 Wed [1]

[> [> When I heard the news today, and learned he was 66, I suddenly felt old as well and wondered where did the years all go? I remember so vividly dancing and singing to "Daydream Believer". -- Araninda, 02:06:11 03/01/12 Thu [1]

[> So sad. RIP Davy! He always looked so boyish -- even as he aged. I hope and pray he had a great life and died without pain. -- mj, 03:06:32 03/01/12 Thu [1]

[> Yes, it' so sad - and he was only 4 years older than me! Not too long ago he hosted a PBS special on the rock & roll years along with another teen love - Peter Noone - "Herman" of Herman's Hermits! -- Wolfeylady, 12:45:10 03/01/12 Thu [1]

I recorded that special and will have to pull it out over the weekend to replay it. I hace several of the Monkee's albums as well. And did you know that there is a fairly new cable channel, Antenna TV, and they are broadcasting the Monkees on weekends.

[> Didn't he appear on The Brady Bunch because one of the girls had a crush on him? He was the same age I am... -- jenks-just too darn bad that another so young is gone, 17:30:44 03/01/12 Thu [1]

[> Very sad when one of our idols leaves us. On 'The View' this morning was the re-run of last July's guest appearance of dear Davy. He looked so young and vibrant -- not to mention that he aged well. Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends. -- carramor, 19:07:06 03/01/12 Thu [1]
