Subject: yeah and they keep trying to tell us the economy is in an upswing- I can't help but wonder what world do the people making these calls live in - anyhow- it is a frightening thought but I've had my neighbor in sales lose his job a couple of times at over 50 years of age and both times he got good replacement work - took several months each time - but he did get it - so there are a few folks out there who appreciate the experience - it's just a matter of finding them. Good luck,

It's the first time he has been without a job in 40 yrs. He's wondering around trying to figure out what to do next. He is a diabetic and has depression. He's afraid no one will hire him at 59 yrs. with his health problems. But, he did up date his resume today and started sending them out. We both need health insurance. I'm on Disiably after working for 38 yrs. Life has been tough since 2007 and doesn't seem to be getting better. Thanks for listening to me vent." on 23:12:43 03/30/11 Wed

[> [> I agree with you chris. How can the economy be on an upswing. This last week, my hospital laid off many employees, eliminated positions in my department, and strongly encouraged people to take the early retirement. So sad. Then my brother-in-law was laid off after 38 years with his company. He's 61 and where does he get another job. They didn't even offer him severance. -- Martian Barb will pray for you, Cathy F and your husband., 06:10:18 03/31/11 Thu [1]

[> [> [> Oh, my hospital's lay offs came only 6 months after opening a brand new state of the art new hospital! My department, L&D was not a part of the new addition. So they sacrifice staff for "things." -- Martian Barb still in disbelief about the elimination of our clin. supervisor of L&D., 06:16:21 03/31/11 Thu [1]
