[> Carrots, please let us know if you and your family are okay. I don't know if the storm was near Huntsville. Also, I understand the storm hit the Metroplex in Dallas. I hope all the Texas tarts are safe. -- Cece, 11:56:25 04/29/11 Fri [1]

[> [> Hey, we made it through. The big one near Huntsville was within walking distance of my home but I was blessed to have minimal wind damage. Praying for the neighbors who were devestated. The power was out when I got home from work on Wednesday - we got it back on yesterday. Still only power for mission essential personnel at work, so I'm off. BTW, I hope to NEVER have to camp out again. -- Carrotts, glad to be back in civilization, 07:22:02 05/03/11 Tue [1]

[> [> [> [> [> Yes, the Spud-pups and I will be high and dry. No need to put little doggie life vests on them. But keep those in the flood areas in your minds. Some of these are in places that have NEVER flooded. Will probably go down this week and help fill sand bags. -- Spud and the Spud-Pups, 08:06:11 05/08/11 Sun [1]

[> Alabama was surely affected the worst, but other states were hit as well. Two tornados passed over my daughter's college in southwestern Virginia & touched down 3 miles north of the campus. Lots of devastation & 3 people killed. The college students have been helping in the search & rescue & cleanup. -- Araninda, 15:36:54 04/29/11 Fri [1]

[> [> [> Emory & Henry College. About 20 miles north of Bristol & 3 miles south of Glade Springs on I-81, which is where the tornado touched down. We went down there yesterday & I have never seen destruction like that. It looked like pictures I have seen of the WWII atomic bomb attack. Semis tossed like matchsticks & crumpled. A trailer (where 1 person died) smashed into little pieces against the hillside. The front of a concrete veterinary clinic completely gone. A church blown away with only the foundation standing. Huge trees totally uprooted. -- Araninda, 19:31:17 05/01/11 Sun [1]

[> The system spawned nemerous tornadoes here in western NC, one even touching down within a mile of my home, but we are safe. My heart goes out to all of those suffering from the fall-out. God bless them and the people helping in the clean-up. -- dg, 16:23:57 05/01/11 Sun [1]

[> We even had a tornado in NZ. The largest city in NZ, Auckland was hit yesterday. One death and lots of destruction. Glad we don't go through that very often. They are a very rare occurance down here. -- Katiegirl, 12:59:09 05/03/11 Tue [1]
