Subject: Alabama was surely affected the worst, but other states were hit as well. Two tornados passed over my daughter's college in southwestern Virginia & touched down 3 miles north of the campus. Lots of devastation & 3 people killed. The college students have been helping in the search & rescue & cleanup.

[> [> [> Emory & Henry College. About 20 miles north of Bristol & 3 miles south of Glade Springs on I-81, which is where the tornado touched down. We went down there yesterday & I have never seen destruction like that. It looked like pictures I have seen of the WWII atomic bomb attack. Semis tossed like matchsticks & crumpled. A trailer (where 1 person died) smashed into little pieces against the hillside. The front of a concrete veterinary clinic completely gone. A church blown away with only the foundation standing. Huge trees totally uprooted. -- Araninda, 19:31:17 05/01/11 Sun [1]
