Harm being a man : masculine
Mac being in our case a woman : feminine

fiancer : verb ( 1st group ): se fiancer

fiancé : masculine : Harm is Mac's fiancé

fiancée : feminine : Mac is Harm's fiancée

fiancés : plural masculine : in french masculine prevails over feminine :
Harm & Mac sont fiancés
Harm & Mac are fiancés

In french exists the masculine & the feminine.

a fiancé :
in french : un fiancé
" fiancé " is MASCULINE
Harm is Mac's fiancé

a fiancée :
in french : une fiancée
" fiancée " is FEMININE
Mac is Harm's fiancéE

another exemple in this language :

animals too :

a cat : un chat : MASCULINE
une chatte : FEMININE

another exemple for humans :
a cousin : un cousin : MASCULINE
une cousine : FEMININE

and more...
