Subject: The "new" rules have been "discussed" at my house also. Usually loudly and directed at the officials that either missed a call or called something stupid. The game of football is definitely changing and not necessarily for the better.

  • I think the fines and penalties have to be more carefully and consisted assessed. I also think that after one fine for a nasty hit, the next penalty should be a one-game suspension. If that doesn't straighten the guy out, the third time could be suspension for three games. If you're going to do this (penalize dangerous hits), you have to do it correctly AND consistently.
