  After way too much debate and threats but the team owners, a deal for a new stadium has been reached and the Pittsburgh Penguins will stay in Pittsburgh. What great news for the city. I just couldn't imagine the team moving to Las Vegas or to Kansas City. It really was breaking the hearts of so many fans in our city. The team is so young ans doing so great this year. In the words of one of our dear former coaches, "It's a great day for hockey!" especially in Pittsburgh...Go Pens!

  Has anyone seen the hottest hockey team in the Natinal Hockey League? The Pittsburgh Penguins have gone from being in 12th place to 4th place winning 13 straight games. They have probably the best young players in the league. They are just so exciting to watch. My son has all of us watching hockey again. We haven't watched hokckey since the early '90's when Mario was at his prime. Right now, they have been way more exciting than the Steelers have been all year.
  
  The biggest concern is whether we can keep the team here in Pittsburgh. Mario wants to sell the team if he and the city and state officials can't come up with a deal for a new arena. It would be just a tremendous loss for the city. The games are all sell-outs. The only way to go to one is by going on "Student Rush" night when the tickets which are turned back in go on sale that night before the game for $20. Students stand in lines for hours just waiting to get in. Last month, some of the players bought pizzas for the kids waiting in line for student rush tickets. The players are great. Pray we can keep them here.

In the middle of last year the sellouts started and you can't get anything but singleton's for any of the remaining games.   I really want to be excited about the Superbowl, and I've even taken Monday off so I can stay up and watch, but I just can't seem to get myself up for it. I don't care for either team. I've always been a Dolphins fan and I worship Marino. This season I've been behind Reggie Bush and the Saints and I'm gutted that their fairytale season ended early. This post does actually have a point, namely that I'm hoping someone will sell their team to me so I can get on a bandwagon and get excited....

  • The way I see it you don't have to choose, you already have. The game is being played in Maimi, that satisfies the Dolphin fan. As for the actual team to pull for you just have to use the "seven degrees" theory. The Colts quarterback is Peyton Manning, Peyton's dad is Archie Manning, former quarterback for the New Orlean Saints and Peyton is from New Orleans.   Harm still thinks the Chargers are the best team and that they shot themselves in the foot with penalties.
  
  Harm loves both the Seahawks and da Bears. He thinks this game was the most exciting game he's seen in a long time.
  
  Harm thinks this was a strange game with 7 field goals. The Ravens couldn't score a touchdown, but neither could the Colts.
  
  The Eagles have nothng to feel bad about. They were the hottest team going into the playoffs and they did good.
  
  Harm hopes the superbowl will be between the Saints and the Colts He says Peyton Manning is the best player never to win or go to the Superbowl and dem Saints came out of nowhere. Last year, they had a losing record and couldn't even play their games in New Orleans. This year, they are on top.

  • I'm still bitter about the Pats beating the Rams in 2001, so I probably won't ever care for the Pats. I love Tony Dungy and Peyton Manning, so I'm hoping it'll be the Colts from the AFC (though Brady and the boys have pesky way of manufacturing playoff wins). Again, as a old LA Rams fan, I still see N.O. as a division rival (though they haven't been for years). However, because of Katrina, it would be nice to see them make it for city morale.   • I'm sorta hoping for a rematch of the 1986 Superbowl, between two of my favs, Da Bears and Da Pats. Of course, it wouldn't really be anywhere near the same.   I just wanted to say that you have done an outstanding job with the weekly football pools this year. I know that there is still the playoffs left to go, but I just thought I would let you know how I felt. I really haven't had the chance to participate too much this year. I have had so many family obligations between my husband and kids, and then my Mom has been in and out of the hospital and is not doing as well as we had hoped after her last surgery in July.

  Denver Bronco cornerback Darren Williams was killed this morning when someone in a white SUV openned fire on his stretch Humvee. They're calling it a drive by shooting. I don't know much more about it, but my heart goes out to his family, especially his parents, no one should ever have to go through the death of their child, and his fans.

  I choose Vince Young for Rookie of the Year. After that incredible game in the BCS championship last year, I was excited to see Vince play. It did take a while for him to get his footing, but now he has it and he really has it. I think he's the most exciting quarterback, I've seen in years.
