Results - Week Fifteen

After week fifteen, currently in the playoffs are Houston, New England,, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, San Francisco, Green Bay and New Orleans, only five more teams to go!
Week fifteen also saw the end to Green Bay's undefeated season (they lost to Kansas City 19-14) and the Indianapolis Colts finally won a game (they beat the Tennessee Titians 27-13).

As for our games? There was excitement there also, the Dolphins beat the Bills, 30-23; the Lions beat the Raiders in the final seconds of the game, 28-27; the Eagles handled the Jets, 45-19; the Cardinals topped the Browns, in overtime, 20-17 and on Monday night, after two blackouts, the Charges upset the Steelers 20-3

The playoff picture is becoming clearer. Already in are Green Bay, San Francisco, Houston and New Orleans. Lots of teams fighting for a spot, only 8 more teams to go. Have your preseason picks made it yet?

Game One has the Miami Dolphins (4-9) playing the Buffalo Bills (5-8). Neither team will make the playoffs, and after starting the year hot, Buffalo is now hoping for a break even season, but they will have to win their last three games. Miami is already singing the 'what til next year blues'.

Game Two finds the Detroit Lions (8-5) facing the Oakland Raiders (7-6). Both teams are fighting for a playoff berth.

Game Three has the New York Jets (8-5) take on the Philadelphia Eagles (5-8) . The Jets are headed toward the playoffs and the Eagles have a very slim chance to make the playoffs, but both need a win to make it a step closer.

Game Four is the Cleveland Browns (4-9) playing the Arizona Cardinals (6-7) . Cleveland is out of the playoff picture but a win Sunday over Arizona could spoil the Cardinal's chances of moving onto the next level.

BONUS GAME on Monday night, the Pittsburgh Steelers (10-3) will visit the San Francisco 49ers (10-3) . San Francisco has made it to the post season group, but Pittsburgh needs to win to join the party.

Reminder, next week there is one game on Thursday and the rest will be played SATURDAY, (Christmas Eve). Games will be posted Wednesday morning.

Well no snow this week but there was lots of 'care' plus some exciting football! The New York Jets took care of the Kansas City Chiefs, 37-10; and the Philadelphia Eagles took care of the Miami Dolphins, 25-10; The Denver Broncos provided some heart stopping excitement and came from behind (again) to beat the Chicago Bears in overtime, 13-10; and finally on Sunday night the lead seesawed back and forth all night but the New York Giants ended up on top (in the final seconds of the game) to beat the Dallas Cowboys, 37-34.

Tis the season of hope, peace, joy and love. In the spirit of the season Harm is taking the time to make sure each of his Harmy ladies is taken care of. Be gentle and patient ladies, there's plenty of Harm to go around.

Our games this week ended with a few surprises, the Carolina Panthers defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 38-19; the Houston Texans upset the Atlanta Falcons, 17-10; the Denver Broncos (and Tim Tebow) came from behind to win, again, beating the Minnesota Vikings, 35-32; the Arizona Cardinals shocked the Dallas Cowboys in overtime 19-13; and on Monday night the San Diego Chargers manhandled the Jacksonville Jaguars, 38-14.

A long week of NFL games, starting with our "turkey" games on Thursday, a full slate on Sunday, ending with a whopper of a game in New Orleans on Monday. We had the Bengals coming from behind to beat the Browns, Dallas kicking a field goal with no time left to beat the Dolphins, St Louis-Arizona and Tennessee-Tampa Bay games with seesawing leads. But enough about other games, how did our teams do?

Game One finds two teams with a record of 6-3, when the Cincinnati Bengals face the Baltimore Ravens

Game two with records of 5-4 finds the Tennessee Titans meeting the Atlanta Falcons

Game three has teams with records of 3-6, with the Jacksonville Jaguars visiting the Cleveland Browns

For Game Four Harm couldn't pass up the "Battle of the Bays" (even though it might not be much of a battle). The Tampa BAY Buccaneers (4-5) travel to Wisconsin to face the undefeated (9-0) Green BAY Packers

Our bonus game, Game Five finds the 'cowboys' and the 'indians' playing together. When the Dallas Cowboys (5-4) ride into town and take on the Washington Redskins

Harm reminded me, a little late for this week's picks, that this week begins Thursday night games, and Thanksgiving day there are three games. So our picks might have to be made earlier in the coming weeks. Keep watching for early announcements! Anyhow, as a bonus there are FIVE games this week.
I realize and so does Harm that many of these teams we've seen a lot this season, however this week we wanted to visit some "hot" division games. Like the AFC East where New England, Buffalo and the Jets are tied at 5-3. Or the AFC North where the Bengals and Ravens are 6-2 and Steelers are 6-3. Then there's the NFC South with the Saints and Falcons neck-in-neck at 6-3 and 5-3 and the NFC North where Detroit and Chicago are tied for second behind the undefeated Packers.
Week Ten

Game One has the New Orleans Saints (6-3) visiting the Atlanta Falcons (5-3) Winner will lead the NFC South.

Game two is the Pittsburgh Steelers (6-3) facing the Cincinnati Bengals (6-2) . If Baltimore wins their game against Seattle there will be a two way tie for first in the AFC North with the winner of this game.

Game three finds the New York Giants (6-2) taking on the San Francisco 49ers (7-1) . Giants lead their division and so does San Francisco, could this be a preview of the playoffs?

Game Four has the Detroit Lions (6-2) playing the Chicago Bears (5-3) . Chicago and Detroit are two and three behind the undefeated Packers in the NFC North.

And our bonus game,
Game Five has the New England Patriots (5-3) facing the New York Jets (5-3) . Three teams are tied for first in the AFC East (NE, Buffalo and NY Jets), after this week two might drop off. We'll have to wait and see.

Another wild week - Seven games to determine the World Series winner! (Harm tells me they really enjoyed game six, except for some strange blue feathers flying around). Week eight, the mid point in the regular season. How are your preseason Super Bowl picks doing? I hate to say it but if you picked Miami, St. Louis, Indianapolis, Arizona, or Minnesota you might want to reconsider your picks, cause those teams aren't going anywhere this year! In week ten you'll have a chance to "revise" your Super Bowl picks or if you're new to the game make your Super Bowl picks. Of course if you revise and win with your new picks your prize won't be as good as if you stuck it out with your original preseason picks. It's your choice!

Getting picks this week was a challenge as Harm was a bit distracted with the World Series. Those tickets for Game Six really caused a stir in the Rabb household. Seems the family was split between rooting for the Rangers (Mac and #1 son) and the Cardinals (Harm and #1 daughter). Of course the two youngest Rabbs (#2 son and daughter) just wanted to know if they got to have peanuts and cracker jack at the game (like the song says). Anyhow I managed to get this weeks picks before everyone left for St. Louis.

Game One has the Detroit Lions (5-2) facing the Denver Broncos (2-4) . Detroit's injured quarterback , Stafford, hopes to play Sunday and ruin Tebow's home opener. Last time these two faced each other it was in SEC games, each with a win. Wonder what's going to happen this time?

Game two is Washington Redskins (3-3) visiting the Buffalo Bills (4-2) . Although Buffalo is the "home team" the game is being played in Toronto, Canada. Both teams have injuries, Buffalo had last week off to recoup, Washington didn't. Wonder who Canada will be rooting for?

Game three finds the New England Patriots (5-1) (be still my heart) take on the Pittsburgh Steelers (5-2) Okay Pittsburgh fans, Tom Brady is 6-1 against your team. Is this the year you finally take him down?
