Higgins, You are indeed a gifted writer. However, my opinion differs.
You write, "I have yet to see a single cite from Dan's writings that, in proper context, can be taken as a threat by any objective person."
That is the problem. The threats are veiled. To the average reader, the posts appear benign. To those that are the target of his threats, they are not. If one were to read each post individually, no problem. If you read them day after day...it is obvious that Dan is attempting to instill fear into his targets. The judge's wife would naturally have been terrified. Dan was obsessed with writing about her husband. His writings were hostile. They have children. Most people, under those circumstances, would be afraid.
Dan ACTS like this is about first amendment issues and being a victim of the courts. Truth is, Dan didn't get his way and instead of working WITH the system, he threw a temper tantrum and is now a convicted felon and will likely miss the majority of his girl’s lives.
NO ONE won here. Sadly, Dan and his girls lost - a lot. Dan, in my opinion, needs to look into the mirror and reevaluate his tactics. As they say in AA, "If you always do as you've always done, you"ll always get what you've always got!"
