Date Posted: 12/11/07 12:55am In reply to: Vernon 's message, "Remembrance Day (Armistice Day)" on 7/11/07 11:48pm connie as vernon states we are catching up after all these years took them long enough.i had an uncle torpedoed in 1942 aboard a blue star boat.lost his life at the age of 22 yrs.first thing blue star done was stop his wages on that day.weather he survived or not he was presumed missing at sea.i have with the help of a few friends and survivers on this site gathered more information about the sinking than his own famiy were ever notified.at the time.or ever were right up until his mothers death.my own late father new nothing other than he was lost at sea.im not quibbling so to speke.more seeking recognition. not just in uk but merchant seaman from all over the world.whome also gave the ultimate sacrifice and lost there lives under horendous conditions ask anyone in the street what date remembrance day is you will get an answer.ask them what date merchant navy day is.you wont get many if any correct answers regards connie good health terry{scouse}.
