Date Posted: 12/03/08 12:32am In reply to: Vernon 's message, "Re: LEST WE FORGET" on 11/03/08 6:05am Thanks Vernon, took a quick look, will have more time later in the week. Will seek further info etc. Had a few discussions with some MN people and a few e.mails. Will contact CWGC and attempt to arrange an appointment to visit them, I would like hopefully to deal with one person and take along several case studies that I now have. I would like to meet and deal with one person, hopefully to become a main contact etc and find some answers and eventually some results. Will report on how things go and plan a future stratedgy. It seems that there are many relatives in the same or similar situation. I will do what I can. One Commemorated person was noted as dying from self inflicted wounds, I cannot comment on this really as I have no facts etc, but airmen also killed in car crashes etc ? No doubt they were involved in much conflict and were very brave etc. but surely a Merchant Seaman, during the course of his working duties, should be paid the same respect. "These such duties being in Wartime". Let those that come after us, remember us - as long as we died on the right day, in the right place. NOT. I always thought when at Tower Hill etc, that "WE SHOULD REMEMBER THEM" and "LEST WE FORGET" etc, meant all. Regards Keith. Keith. [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
