This (at the bottom) is what I posted on the other board after Shelby closed the thread, saying 'I should not have let this go on for so long'.
Well, here's some more truth about the "Elite Seven" as we call them. The same 7 people who get elected to some position on the board every year. Amazing...the voting is done in the open room, but THEY do the counting and the ballots are not available for the members to re-check. Dangling Chads, anyone?
I did belong to the booster Club for 2 years but as you will see in my copied post, I got sick of it real fast. I told the cliques in High School to 'jump off' and I say the same to the elite Seven who have driven away almost every new person who has come along in hopes of being a HELPFUL Booster Club Member, not just another pocket to dig into:
Here's my post that probably WILL NOT show up on the other censored board:
I WAS a member of the Booster Club for two years. All I saw was the same 7 people getting re-elected to different positions. I went to the Mardi Gras Ball one year. Before the Ball, the Booster Club Members were told at the monthly meeting that there would NOT be a private pre-Ball party for staff, owners, players, and Board Members ONLY as in previous years. When I arrived at the Ball promptly at 7 p.m., laden with food, gifts, drinks, and beads, half the team was already wasted, and the other half were on their way out the door, tired from the 'cocktail party' that started at 5 p.m. for owners, players, and you guessed it-Booster Club BOARD MEMBERS ONLY! And, YES INDEED, there was a private area (with a well stocked bar) for players and S/O's that only they and Booster Club Board Members, as well as staff & owners could go into. You had special wristbands for those who had the rights to go into the 'private room'-which is where most of the players who stayed spent the whole evening. You even had a professional photographer there taking pictures. In the Private Room! I looked in there and I know what I saw. That was the last time I went to a meeting or payed any dues.
I willingly offered help with setting up/tearing down apts, picking up new players that flew in, doing grunt work, but those 'privileged' jobs seemed to be only for the Special 7. All I was ever asked to do was pay more money into the club, buy gifts for ALL the players, contribute to birthday cakes, and find Mardi Gras beads for them to toss from the float. I offered to do everything that Booster Club members do-sell 50/50, man the table, cook food for the 'private events', etc. All I ever got in response was "We'll call you if we need you. BTW, we need extra $$ for _____."
I did get the privilege of sewing on the robes for the Mardi Gras court-all done by hand, bead work, sequins, etc....no thanks received for that. Bloody fingertips and all.
Soooo, long story long-it's the Booster Club OFFICERS who get to do all this fun grunt work you talk about, and the regular members who get asked to just dip into their pockets. And it's been the same batch of people on the Board for years. Which is why you can never keep the membership in the Booster Club up to a good size. It's a CLIQUE!!!
So why bother-it's an exclusive club you can never get into. Jut pay to be at a meeting once a month and get asked for more money.
This is the truth and even though you've closed the thread, Shelby, the other readers need to know the truth.

Anyone else have horror stories to tell about the Elite Seven? I know I am not the only one that left in disgust after being made to feel guilty for not writing checks every time I went and being turned down in my offers of physical rather than financial help.
