The show is a bit dated due to the technology. That kinda kills it for me too. However, Season 1 was one of my favorites seasons of the show. That doesn't bode well for your enjoyment of the show.

However, unlike many shows, the wire had a solid ending. So many shows anymore have good runs but ruin the endings (Lost, Battlestar Galactica, 30 Rock, etc.).

In one month, we get to see how the Walter White saga ends. I am really hoping that it does not disappoint.
