hafer, I had lux2 pick out the ring so yes the fact an "official" proposal was coming wasnt really a surprise at all. The when and where more so were a surprise but not really as it doesnt take much common sense to figure it out once we made plans to visit the grand canyon. The how was really the only surprise element.

I could have went with teh surprise proposal and then had her pick out the ring afterwards but there are a mulititude of reasons why this was not a good way to go.
