Today was a public holiday so I was off from work work, but not off from domestic work. Most of the afternoon was spent installing a ceiling fan and tinkering with my bike. The ceilings are concrete and I needed to use special anchors that could hold 35+ lbs. My assistant gave me her tool box with a variety of anchors, none of which were labeled (for concrete or weight). So after playing around for a bit, I finally was able to settle on ones that I hoped would not give way one night while we are sleeping. Fingers crossed!

My bike tires rub up against my brake pads. I was able to adjust the front, but it looks like my back tires, or just the rims, are warped. I learned a new term today, my rim may be "out of true." Hopefully this is the case rather than a new tire needed. Exciting stuff, I'm sure.

My boss is just started his vacation for the next 2 weeks, so I am on my own. Good stuff!

One of the new Americans decided to pack his bags and go back to the States. He was an idiot. Totally unprepared for the cost of the move...made some bad decisions and he decided to go back to DC to a law firm to recoup his losses. Good news is that no one liked him so we are not too upset to see him go. They will start interviewing pretty soon to fill the opening if anyone is interested.

BBQ was ok this past weekend. I expected more and I got less. But it was still good.

Last Friday, Kate and I got hammered off of the free booze. We still spent 40 euro on cab fare but the booze obviously offset this expense. I don't recall what time we got back to the apartment, but we didn't wake up until 1 pm. Our day was essentially shot since a lot of stores close by 4 pm, or in some cases 2 pm, on Saturdays and motivation was zero.

Vic, let me know if you are interested in Oktoberfest this year.
