Thanks for the jinx, guys!! So the Germans are quite strict on this and Kate and I both took breathalizers last night as a result of this. Luckily, we both dominated and our numbers were withing the legal limit (though we think Kate's was dangerously close to being over based on the look the officer gave her -- maybe borderline over!). The BAC limit is 0.05%, so even less than the US! We don't know our exact numbers but the result was them letting us go with a warning and they told us it's better after a few drinks to walk our bikes home. They were super nice about it, so in that regard we were lucky. They also could tell we were new to the system based on the date of my residence card.
