today is my first day at work since spawn emergence day. medimmune gives chicks 3 months maternity leave and dudes 4 weeks paternity leave. that's some bs. i want 2 extra months off.

spawn continues to be a fairly cooperative baby. she sleeps from 9pm - 1am (with one feeding) and then off and on until 10 in the morning. caruso and i continued to do our shift strategy so this is her first day with the kid all by herself for most of the day. we have, over the past few weeks, gone out leaving the other with the banana for a few hours but never this long. it should be fine, although i'm sure she'll be tired when i get home.

parent question: did any of you put rice cereal in your bottles to help fill up your kid so that they sleep longer? if so, when did you start this practice? also, how much did your kid eat each day? was it close to the 2.5oz per 1 pound rule?

in other news, i've been really enjoying game of thrones. what a great friggin show. i can't recommend reading the books enough. they're very long (that's what she said) but they are quick reads (if that's possible).

ditto mad men. lots of twists and turns this season and i think it's clear they're not done. i wish tv seasons were longer.

i've also been enjoying the new season of america's got talent with new judge howard stern. the dude knows what he's doing. check it out.
