Date Posted: 13:04:08 05/29/12 Tue So I was back in PA from Wednesday - Sunday. We celebrated my Dad's 60th Bday with a surprise party on Saturday. I also managed to golf with Lukey, his dad, and Weary on Friday. Mr. Hafer was kind enough (Thank you sir) to let me borrow his left handed clubs. I hit the irons fairly well but continue to suck at chipping. It's costing me 10-15 strokes per round. Also, I couldn't get a feel for his putter and 3 putted quite a few greens. Here's an interesting story from my trip home on Sunday. Those of you on Twitter already know some of the details. As we're heading back to the gate, I check Twitter and see that Ricky Rubio posted a message about watching the game while waiting for his cousin. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nba-ball-dont-lie/ricky-rubio-watches-nba-playoffs-while-spinning-around-145614582.html I notice that the tweet was 3 minutes ago so he obv still in the airport. I was in row 5 so I hurried off the plane and went to the sports merchanise store that's right outside my gate. I looked at hats ($40) and ended up buying a $5 pennant in hopes of getting it autographed. I walk down to baggage claim and it's crowded as a few flights have just arrived (we had a weather delayed landing). I walked down to the end of baggage claim and don't see him. On my walk back, I spot a beared dude in a tank top and it's him (the ppl he was picking up were on my flight). Right next to us is a small flower kiosk. I run over to the desk, ask to borrow a sharpie and in the meantime, Rubio has made his way to the escalator to the parking garage. I hop on the escalator and am about 5 people behind him. We get to the bottom and I walk past a few people and get next to him. I look over and say, "Hey Ricky, would you mind signing this for me?" and hand him the pennant and marker. He says "Sure man, no problem." I tell him I'm a fan and that I saw his post on Twitter. He laughs and then I ask him how his knee is doing. He said it's getting better and I wrap it up with a handshake and a "good luck next season". After I returned the pen, I went right back down the same escalator and could still see him in the distance. No one else seemed to recognize him. I wasn't too surprised since he's not overly tall and he's is just a lanky Spanish dude with a thick beard. The pennant is now hanging in my office behind my desk.
