Linda:

Interesting comments. First of all, I am not "Fat Guy"!! Lol... getting back to Brian I am sure you are correct about Mick, ALO and Abcko. Still, if Brian had wanted to he could have made a statement. Back then when he was still alive, A LOT of people would have believed him. Are you kidding? Around the time Ruby Tuesday came out and was number 1 in America would have been a great time to make a statement or during the Monterey Pop Festival? He was treated like royalty that weekend (gave interviews as well). He easily could have said something but did not.

Maybe he was afraid to say anything. Although, that does not sound like the Brian Jones I have read about... he was always the one speaking his mind regarding various subjects. Why would he not defend something that was his own (writing credits for Ruby Tuesday)?

Maybe Old Spice remembers Brian talking about this song or others?

I do know that Mick and Keith were bullies when it came to writing credits (obviously they, specially Mick, were complete mercenary's). I agree with you there as well... they were both assholes to Brian (I have since done some research in various books and forgot how much Mick wanted Brian out of the band for all of those years).

Mick was completely jealous of Brian. As long as Brian and Keith were tight friends (up to early 1967) then Mick really could not do much. But when the axe finally fell between those two (Keith and Brian with the whole Anita fiasco) then that was it... game , set, match. The end. Add on Brian's drug bust and Mick could REALLY start to plot against Brian (sure enough, it took about two years, he did eventually tell the band they HAD to get rid of Brian). Mick could care less about Brian but he was concerned about the bands image (Brian was still very popular as much as Mick even). That is one reason Mick waited until 1969 to get rid of Brian (by then he felt Brian had finally lost it), plus they needed to make money, get back and tour etc...

But it all started in 1967... a bad year for Brian Jones.
