This sketch reminds me of the time "The Village People" (70's Disco group consisting of six gay men who sang the song "It's fun to stay at the YMCA") were on family feud for a week competing against some models or something. Well, they were so out of the loop for what average people thought, I do believe they lost every match. They were clueless and gave some pretty bizarre answers. I was hoping this sketch would be something like that. I'd have to say the Village people were funnier, but this sketch wasn't bad. But there weren't enough outlandish answers given by the Manson family, and there should have been some really bizarre answers that were correct.
Also, Charles Mansons ramblings weren't that funny. It wasn't completely without comedy, just not that funny. I think more could have been done. When the Manson family answered Sharp Knives to the picnic question, I think pigs blood would have been funnier (I don't think Sharp Knives had that comedic punch).
I thought it would be funny if Richard Dawson made up a rule that the Manson family would get to answer ths questions instead, because it's just better for the interest of the show. Such as if Mansons replied a pigs head in reply to the picnic question, Dawson would say "Sounds like Sandwiches!" Then Sandwiches would come up as the number one answer. And Dawson might reply that "a pigs head could be used in the sandwiches, it's all food anyways. Haven't you ever heard of a pigs head sandwich?" Maybe the other family could protest and thats why he gives that explanation.
Something is fundamentally wrong with this sketch, I do believe. The main idea behind this sketch is that The Manson Clan is on The Family Feud, yet about half the comedy is coming from a normal family. That is why I suggested that the Mansons get to answer the questions. My take is that the Mansons should have gotten 90% of the focus, and the other family should have been treated like they were just extra's for the Manson family being there.
