It is rather interesting that the slightest thing seen on TV or a movie can spark an entire sketch. My "Sidewalk Patrol" piece was brought on by the way the cops are portrayed on the Simpsons. And I've got an idea circulating based on those commercials for jewelry stores that offer diamonds below retail price ("How can we sell them for such low prices? We have them smuggled in!")

Then again, as has been said earlier, real-life experiences can be bountiful sources of inspiration. My sociology teacher was the one who talked about Milford's low crime rate and how they don't even bother to have a police force. And my brother was the one who thought up Douche-cock McGee as an insult. All you have to do is hear something funny and a seed of comedic potential is planted.

I'm definitely gonna have to try that fan-staring trick, Prateek. Thanks for the recommendation.
