Subject: Following tradition, I will provide the first (but hopefully not the only) review.

Okay, I got a collection of Simpsons comics at Borders today, they've got a Jeff Dunham special on Comedy Central tonight, I am prepared for full-blown laughs tonight. That being said, let's get this armadillo in orbit! (Am I the first person to use that catch phrase?

The Daily Crossword: I got the idea for this sketch after watching one of those "Best of Monty Python" specials, particularly the sketch "The Blackmail game." As this skit was being played, I was reading a Batman comic with the Riddler in it. As it progressed, I remembered in another comic that Riddler once presented a clue using a giant crossword puzzle, and from there, it was a chocolate in peanut butter moment. I hope that the combination of the two was enjoyable.

Monologue: The first of four from Mark this week (where do you get the time to write all these pieces, Mark? I'm lucky if I can get one finished in a busy week.) The monologue was so-so, primarily because Antonio was trotting out weak, trite jokes that have been heard before. It would have been interesting if he did some jokes personal to him; for example, I think he's Spanish, maybe he could have done some jokes about Don Quixote or the annual running of the bulls ("The bulls refer to it as the goring of the idiots!") It was an interesting approach, but it could have been carried out better.

The Sensitive Police Chief: This was a neat take on the "oblivious boss" piece; instead of being an imbecille, he's too caring. It was a unique characterization, and carried out quite well. His serene reactions to the shocking news brought before him were great, I would have loved to have seen this acted out just to hear the concern in his voice. And I really liked the fact that during the interrogation, he didn't get the rapist set free through stupidity or make him confess by driving him crazy. Great piece.

Autograph Please?: Wonderful piece, Prateek. Killer banter between the main characters, absuridty abound, and an incredibly hilarious twist ending. Any chance you can tell me how to get in touch with Cranston's Sex Slaves?

Baseball Fever, Catch It: This was a nice, weird piece, but it lacked background. I would have enjoyed it better if there'd been an explanation as to why players can't keep videos of the games anymore. Is it an extention of the MLB's ban on reproducing games without consent? That, and it could have used some more weird "rules" that punished the fans and viewers. But it was still okay.

... I'm afraid I have to head out now, but I'll finish up the review later.
