Subject: I haven't watched those eps since they were on, so I don't remember much except the faceless body of "Singer" in Ducky's morgue, and Harm smacking the two-way mirror in anger and frustration, knowing Gibbs was on the other side. They were real emotional eps for us JAG fans, and the production style really enhanced the cognitive dissonance. I wonder if the eps on the DVDs were "edited" in any way, compared to the original. Would be an interesting project for a rainy afternoon, if I still had a VCR.

A little late to your post..but I just stumbled on the board.

a) You are not imagining it. He is smoking a cigar when he is meeting with the locals to gather his information.

b)As I just started watching JAG over the last couple of months-- a little late to the party lol -- I just happened to see Ice Queen and Meltdown. I do love the dance between Gibbs and Rabb. Both definitely cut from the same cloth.

c)Playing along with the characters-
** It was established Rabb was the best, and of a higher character.
** It was a sloppy crime, antithetical to Rabb's nature.
** Their case came about with Rabb trying to protect his brother. For Rabb it was all about Sergei and shielding him.
** Gibb's knew this is what gave him his case, and became the source of doubt. Rabb's efforts were not to eliminate himself as a suspect but his brother.
** The final one on one between Gibb's and Rabb gave him a good, calmer opportunity to look into Rabb's eyes as he spoke, confirming what was bothering him.

I like that they did this in a subtle way. Gibb's in some respects was acting in a similar manner as Rabb's character would.

It's interesting to see how the NCIS characters also changed from this introduction.

It doesn't seem much was done in the aftermath of this on the show in referencing the events as it seems it went directly to Paraguay. I am still navigating the shows.
