Subject: "Episode of the Week" suggestion(s)

Just wondering if anybody would be interested in "re-viewing" all ten years, starting with ep. 1. I know this has been done before, but that was a few years ago and we were all, I think, still all very hyped over the way the series ended and that helped color and shape the discussions.

Reason I am asking: I just spent a couple of weeks re-viewing all ten years (I have the complete DVD set--yeah!) and I found a certain detachment was present this time around that wasn't there when the series first aired--and still some of the eps had a powerful impact. The two eps I skipped over dealt with Paraguay--that's still painful, even knowing everything turns out well--to view. I was just curious, especially after clicking over to the "review" section, if anybody else wants to "trip down memory lane". A certain distance in time might generate a more "objective" (and less "heat") and quite possibly add some richness to the community (which I have missed, darned it anyway.)

I'm thinking, if anybody is interested, we could suggest viewing the "episode of the week" sometime during the week and then open up the discussion on the weekends. Not sure how that would work, but I think going back over things--and contributing from the wonderful fan fiction that has been inspired--would add some excitement and who knows! new insights, too.

(And am I reading too much into this?? but there might be new people coming on board, too, and their perspectives would be welcome.) Anybody game???

[> while I'm game- I'd be going from memory because I don't often have time to re-watch every episode- especially since I don't own season 5 and 6 and I WILL NOT watch 9 and 10 - those are pod years- different people- not my show! lol -- chris k, 09:07:17 04/01/14 Tue

[> I'll join in when I can, but it will be on memory alone as all of my copies are on VHS, and are sitting in a dusty box. I mostly agree about 9 and 10 with some good eps here and there. However, S10 after the 4%Solution were 100 % horrible, except for maybe the last 7 minutes of the last ep....and that's pushing it. -- Cece, 13:28:43 04/02/14 Wed

[> I posted the EOTW for years. It was fun, but interest waned because people didn't have time or the DVDs to rewatch the episodes. Also comments were made that there wasn't much new to discuss & they were not interested in discussing episodes or scenes that had been hashed over & over on the board. A year or so ago, I tried posting episode video clips to try to get discussions going again. But there just wasn't many people who wanted to watch the clips & post comments. The EOTW takes a lot of work each week. It is disheartening when there isn't much discussion. But I don't want to discourage you. Maybe with INSP airing the series & new posters, there is renewed EOTW interest. -- Araninda, 18:05:06 04/02/14 Wed

[> [> I know Araninda, you did a fabulous job and it was something to look fwd to every week. Maybe highplainswoman can give it a shot and see if interest has picked up again, particularly with new watchers. It won't ever be the same as when the eps were new, but maybe with a mix of old viewers and new, there could be some interesting conversations. HPW could call it, EOTW Redux. -- Cece (who can't get her head around the idea that Harm & Mac are middle aged now!), 20:28:45 04/02/14 Wed
