Subject: National Ice Cream Day

Today is National Ice Cream Day, so in celebration a little JAG trivia quiz. (I actually 'borrowed' this from a post AJ did on the for DJE fans message board last year - thanks AJ)

1. In what JAG episode did Harm and Mac enjoy some ice cream together on a hot night? (Also remember the two flavors?)

2. In what JAG episode did Harm eat an orange, while his table companion had ice cream? (Who was the companion and what was that flavor?)

3. In what JAG episode did Harm and Mac assist with a melting ice cream problem, by both eating a helping or two? (Recall this flavor and why there was an ice cream problem?)

1. Yep, agreed, the flavours were chocolate and vanilla and Harm had the vanilla, leaving Mac to have chocolate. Don't remember the episode, just the scene.

2. His companion was Chuck de Palma, the ice-cream was strawberry but the orange had to have been a mandarine, unless you guys have an orange variety over there that is as easy to peel and segment as a mandarine. If so, anyone want to tell me the variety or send some seeds our way so we can have an easier life? ;-D ...On second thoughts, don't bother on my account; I'm allergic to citrus... :-(

3. They needed to clear the freezer on the Watertown so they could store a sailor's body so they ate the ice-cream. Silent Service was the episode. I cheated to get the flavour... as I thought, they didn't mention the flavour in the dialogue but the video shows Chocolate Swirl on the label of the barrel Harm and Mac ate from. So I just learned a new piece of trivia. :-D (You learn [a new piece of JAG trivia] every day.)

I thought Harm had the chocolate, taking Mac by surprise. Somehow I remember there was a conversation earlier about always doing things the same, no variety which is why Harm took the chocolate, it was different. Or maybe I dreamed it.

I love picking up JAG trivia, hadn't thought about the orange but it makes sense, could have been a tangerine as I remember they peel easy also.

about why he took Mac by surprise but it was the vanilla he took. I remember because a JAG fic I read once had Harm not ever having chocolate because of his healthy eating choices so I noticed when she expected him to take the chocolate.

I didn't make that connection about predictability and yes, that could have had a bearing on him doing something differently, I think you're right. Tiner certainly seemed to scoff at the idea of Harm changing his routine. :-D

Don't remember having a tangerine but it's been so long since I ate citrus, who knows? I've always loved oranges and most mandarines (some are quite bitter) but I hated how messy eating oranges could be compared to mandarines when you just had to use your hands to peel and eat. Every now and then I really, really, REALLY would love an orange or a mandarine... :-(

now I will have to go study fruit lol... DPB referred to it as an orange if I recall correctly in the DVD audio commentary...

Harm did get the chocolate to Mac's surprise.. I thought it so Harm like when he licked the lid lol...

I have the Region 4 box set in a tin and I don't think any of the Season 1 DVDs have a commentary. (My DVD player refuses to acknowledge the existence of the disks so that's going by using VLC on my computer - maybe the DVD player would find a commentary.) Where have you seen the commentary you mention?
