Subject: I actually started with NCIS and then NCIS LA. Then I discovered JAG, and NCIS just isn't the same for me. Granted I also miss Ziva, but JAG's characters are on a different level. I also see now how many stories seem to be JAG rewrites.

[> No NCIS for me -- it tries too hard. That is, either everyone and everything is 'too slick' or too 'cutesy'. It's gagworthy. JAG was forthright and complicated, at the same time and just seemed to flow so natural and seemed so much more real, even though, of course, it, too, was 'reel'. The one thing I will say about NCIS -- it's another example of a show that relies heavily on it's lead character played by MH. If he would go, the show would be much less appealing. The spin-offs of NCIS boggle my mind. All I can say is -- someone with big bucks and power must be backing this show to keep the whole franchise afloat. Or, there's so many inferior shows that come and go and the simple brand recognition keeps it going. JAG was a much better show, but things went totally awry and the bad blood spoiled it. I miss it and I even miss the idea of it not coming back. I also wish something great would come along for DJE that would stick because he got cheated and his talent and appeal has been wasted after JAG.
