Julie B., correct me if I am wrong, but Walsh signed Garcia to be Steve Young's BACKUP. Walsh never said Garcia was his QBOTF, but he did say that Garcia was "maxed out." Jeff Garcia is no more a "Bill Walsh quarterback," than Steve Bono, or Elvis Grbac, or Steve Stenstrom. The "Bill Walsh offense" that TIM harkens for is the one he remembers Joe Montana and Steve Young guiding.

As for Eric Johnson, I said he was a pleasant surprise, but until he gets deep, ala Brent Jones, and stays healthy, and scores a touchdown, then Johnson is merely a Walsh draft pick, and Mariucci still lacks a "Walsh tight end."

Clever response, though.
