Annoying? Disheartening? Frustrating?
Yeah. Sure. Then again, I get annoyed, disheartened, and frustrated when my Golden State Warriors lose to the L.A. Lakers.
It's not realistic. It's just a fan thing.
But it's the day after...and the game didn't mean squat... and it wasn't very surprising that the Niners blew the lead in the 4th quarter, considering the fact that damned near all of the Niners who'll be playing next week were on the bench, or at home in the Bay Area during the second half.
The Bad things that happened
Jason Webster's sprained ankle. That's the worst thing that happened, but as long as we've got Plummer on Toomer next week...and someone, anyone, to put on the Giants second WR...we should come out okay.
Garrison Hearst's fumbles. Man, wasn't that bizarr. And you know that means the Giants will be trying their best to rip the ball out of his hands on Sunday. Garrison is gonna be in for a very physical day on Sunday.
Tai Streets' bobbling problem. Tai had some real trouble holding onto the ball last night, especially when he got smacked. Which means, like Garrison, Tai's in for a bruising on Sunday. The Giants will think that if they pound on him...he'll drop the ball.
Kind of a shame to see Josh Shaw limping off the field. He was actually starting to look like a football player again in this game. Hopefully the injury wasn't too serious.
The Good things
Most of our starters got some rest, and got a chance to, as Mariucci says, "healthy up."
And Kyle Kosier looked like a player. I don't know if he's a Tackle...but it sure looks like he's got the talent to develop into a fine NFL Offensive Guard.
I really liked what I saw of Tim Rattay before Willig switched to Guard, and Kosier switched to Tackle, and Lynch replaced Newberry, and Davis came at in Tackle.
After the changes he didn't have much of a chance. But when he was getting fair to middlin' protection...he was very good.
