Because Giles killed him in cold-blood, whether you agree with his actions or not. And Ben had a lot more excuse for what he was doing than Warren, in my opinion anyway.

And going by the spoilers, Willow is in an absolute murderous rage when she goes after Warren - not in cold-blood. Is an act of passion not more excusable? And I'm not saying what she's doing is a good thing, by the way, just a more understandable one.
