Subject Author Date She needs to call the US Embassy...and DEMAND her passport back. NEVER EVER EVER relinquish your passport. NEVER..and always know where the Embassies are. For Canadian girls travelling to Int'l pageants, know that there are not Cdn consulates or embassies in all countries, the US embassies will assist so know where they are. Always go with the frame of mind that you will be well taken care of, but always always have a back up plan and a stash of emergency cash that no one knows about, well hidden and dont spend it on shopping ;) I am certain her embassy will help her, but my question is, did she go at large or through a US organzation/national director? If you are a Canadian abroad and have no Canadian embassies/consulates available to you, your next choice is the BRITISH. A direct quote from the back cover of my own passport: "In countries where there is no Canadian office, application may be made in an emergency to the nearest BRITISH diplomatic or consular office."
