So, correct if me I'm wrong....but if Tate is a Miss Greater Greer, and one of the judges is a former Miss Greater Greer........how is that fair for the other girls? I hope I have some incorrect information here, for that would diminish that judge's ability to be unbiased.

I Teach voice, and I don't think the judges know a talented vocalist when they hear its. It's a shame. She was more than deserving of a talent award. It seems the judges are going for tall and skinny, dancers or instrumentalists this year. But, anyway, that's my opinion, good luck to all the girls

Capital City Teen should have won talent, and no, I'm not her mom. Easley was a talented clogger but she was not the winner for the night. I think the scores need to be double checked to make sure.

I was wondering why during the prelims are the girls not competing genre against genre? The vocalist should compete, the instrumentalist should be grouped, and the dancers a group. This way each girl has a fair shot. It is to much difference for judges to only get to pick one when there might be a great vocalist, outstanding instrumentalist, and dancer. It just really seems like that would work better and make the top ten a little more well rounded and have the best talents possible.

I think it is remarkable that anyone is doing well considering the lack of rest and sleep that everybody is operating on. Seems to me that the contestants need and DESERVE rest to be able to function. All these so-called "public appearances" are a joke. There is no consideration for the well-being of the girls.

I just wanted to say good luck to everyone and to the families! This is the first time in 9 years that I haven't been to Miss South Carolina and I must say that I do miss it! I just couldn't get away from work and class this year! Oh and I love the group names (I am partial to the Fox group name ---just the name since I work for Fox News) Wish I could be there to see my Anna Perry crown out new Miss SC whom I love to death and always enjoyed competing with! I'll never forget the day I met her at Miss Columbia! Anywho I feel so old now and I hardly know any of the contestants, but I wish them all the best of luck and I hope that they all have a wonderful time! I know that I wouldn't be where I am today without Miss South Carolina and all of the people I've met along the way--Laura Stamm, Hayleigh Peay, Shelley Benthall, Anna Perry, Paul White and family, Chaz Ellis, Sam Raney, Greg Ellenberg, Ladonne Rogers, Taylor Hoverman, Jackie and many many more! (the more I name the more I want to get in my car and drive to SC!) Happy 4th of July and I hope that I can travel to Las Vegas in January to support the new Miss SC!

Love,
Katy

I always enjoy coming to the pageant year after year ...The opening number is to long ...I for one really miss Joey and Scott at the pageant ...you can tell they are not there to keep the pageant rolling ...The MC (Kristi Green former Miss South Carolina ) is doing a great job with being the MC ,but the pageant inself seems to be unorganized ...Can't wait to have Joey and Scott back !I thought the winner of the Teen Fitness was right on the money with the Duncan/Lymand /Wellford win... Best talents in the Teens were Columbia,Florence and Coastal Empire congrats to Maxine and the Coastal Empire gang on your win, ...Teens on-stage question the standouts to me were Greater Carolina and Laurens County ...The best evening gown in the teen was Greater Mauldin , now onto the Miss in swimsuits the standouts were Lexington Peach (Who was the winner )Greater Carolina and Hartsville ...Miss In Talent the standouts were North Greenville univ. ,Columbia and Greater Greer ,I felt this could have gone either way .Miss in Evening Gown ,standouts were Coastal Empire and Summerville Miss on-stage questions standouts with question only were Capital City ,Greater Mauldin ,Darlington and Charleston County ...We shall see I think this is going to be an interesting year !

A few thoughts on this week and the girls who are impressing me so far:

Kelly Sloan looks amazing in swimsuit, and just has her whole heart and soul in it this year. Something is different for her. Anyone who saw her win Miss Hartsville knows she has the look and though she has not been the talk on here, don't count her out. She doesn't know me, but I know heart when I see it.

Lexington County Peach: Great talent, didn't miss a beat at forum.

Elizabeth Tate looks better this year, and plays better.

Morgan Damper looks great and could finally have her year. She has the whole package. Looks like she's been doing a lot w/ her platform.

Donna Sellers has a great talent.

Maggie Hill has a very impressive talent, but does she have the swimsuit ready figure to pull off a win?

Danielle Wilson has the body, but does she have the talent this year?

All in all, last night's prelim was great, except for the fact that it was way too long. This needs to be two pageants, not all crammed into one. And they could get more money that way, too! The evening gown competition was much better in the teen than in the miss b/c they could be seen so much better without that piano in front of them!

It seems to me that in a professional production like this, the vocalists should all use the hand-held mic, not a clip-on mic. Voices sounded muffled and unclear. They should be supported by production staff so that they can do their personal best, whatever that may be.

Subject: My daughter is planning on competing next year but really needs help with interview. Is there anyone that y'all would recommend that she could work with on interview? I don't want to have to pay a lot of money but she needs someone who knows what she's doing. Thanks!

Just wondering, what would happen if a contestant couldn't come up with $500.00 for a gala table. Is attendance mandatory?

I recently discovered that it is tradition for Palmetto Princesses to give a gift to the queen each night of competition and that they are suposed to reciprocate. Since this is sort of an unwritten understanding, I wonder how many moms like me might be in the dark.

If anyone knows any other traditions like this, please post for all to learn about. I don't want my queen to get anything less that she is expecting. Thanks so much and see you all in a couple of weeks.

If you've ever worked with me then you know I'm constantly preaching exercise is only half the battle when you want to look your best on stage. I constantly worry about the pressure each of you have at the thought of being on stage in front of thousands in a bikini and that the pressure may cause you to starve yourself to get thin. I know you realize starving yourself is not the answer but maybe you feel it’s more convenient and easier than trying to find what you can and can't eat to maximize your weight loss.

I’ve been working with Kelley Herring a nationally published nutrition expert to offer you a meal plan that’s easy and affordable. Not only does it provide a 7-day plan, it gives 20 healthy eating tips as well as a large list of foods that are safe to eat and where you can shop for them locally or online. Please go to the link below and download your free copy. I promise if you follow the advice given you will not only have the body you want, but you will also have more energy and you will be turning your body into a calorie burning machine in the process.
