The Miss Duncan-Lyman-Wellford Scholarship Pageant is seeking Teen & Miss Contestants for their 2009 Pageant. The Miss Duncan-Lyman-Wellford & Miss Duncan-Lyman-Wellford Teen Pageant will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at James F. Byrnes High School. This is a closed pageant open only to residents of Spartanburg and Greenville Counties.

Come be a part of our show, which promises to be full of fun, exctiement and lots of imagination! (This years theme is based on the books of Dr Seuss & "Seussical the Musical")

There will be a potential contestant meeting this Sunday, Nov 30 @ the Middle Tyger Library in Lyman, 2:30 p.m. for Teen Contestants and 4 p.m. for Miss Contestants. It is for all young ladies (and/or their parents)who are interested in learning more about competing in our 2009 pageant. It is not a mandatory meeting but all interested are encouraged to attend.

Does anyone know where the Miss Greenville Pageant is being held and also at what time? Surely there is someone out there with this information. No wonder pageants are having so much trouble if no one is willing to inform the public of time and place. There are two other posts on this board asking the same question. I have some friends coming for the weekend from NC and they want to attend. I would really appreciate someone giving me this information. Thank you.

We have the right to know what is going on in our state with our directors and our girls and the state of everything...so unless the Sanders moderate this board, why is it no one can talk about the status of the charges, arrest, etc??

We have 16 great contestants vying for our title. See who will succeed Chasity Hardman, Miss Georgia 2008, as the new Miss Capital City. An invitation to all our South Carolina friends to come to the Miss Capital City Pageant in Atlanta on November 22. That is the weekend prior to Thanksgiving - why not get a jump on your holiday shopping at Lenox Mall or Phipps Plaza earlier that day and enjoy the pageant that evening?! We anticipate upwards of 20 contestants in the Miss Pageant and will feature Miss Capital City and now Miss Georgia 2008 Chasity Hardman! Our 2009 teen representative was selected earlier and will be crowned that evening as well.

Just a reminder that if you would like to take advantage of the discount rate at the Courtyard by Marriott at Executive Park (North Druid Hills Rd exit from I-85), you must make your reservation by Nov. 7. See the link below for reservation information. The discount rate is available for both Friday and Saturday evenings (Nov 21 & 22).

Also, if you would like to order tickets in advance, please go to misscapitalcity.org, click on "2009 Pageant" and then "Order Tickets" where you will find the order form to send in. We hope to see everyone at the pageant!! Current MAO titleholders (Miss and Teen) are admitted free.

Let us first say thank you to each person who came out to support the first annual Miss Greater Mauldin Scholarship Pageant and our contestants. We could not have been more thrilled with the entire weekend's events and results. We would like to extend a special thank you to the following Miss South Carolina Field Directors and LED's who were able to visit with us:
Paul White, Dell Mattox, Benson Odom, Kevin McCall, Jared Hembree, Kerri Cullip, Rhonda Robertson, Cindy Bishop, Camilla Pitman, and Katie Moss Jenkins.
There were also a number of visiting queens with us as well, and we would like to thank each of them for taking time to make an appearance. I do not have a list of these young ladies, but thank you, thank you, thankyou!

Hey y'all! I recently came across a couple of Miss Dixie Pageant program books from the mid 1960s and I'm hoping some of you South Carolina pageant fans can give me some info on the contest. Apparently it gave a nice prize package to the winner, including a decent scholarship, gifts and wardrobe. Does anyone know when the pageant was discontinued? It was held in Daytona Beach and a requirement was that contestants must have finished first or second in another big pageant--it apparently drew quite a few contestants from the Miss America, Miss USA, Miss World and Junior Miss pageants. Any trivia?
