Here's a thought... what is Gail stopped pushing the ad pages so hard... and maybe the girls would focus more on preparing for the competition, so that when we do get a winner, she will know how to prepare for Miss America, instead of just knowing how to sell 50 ad pages. Maybe if a girl wins who is actually ready to go to the national pageant, we would have a better chance at a national title!

Former title holder here who has aged out, but wants to share some great info! I've been working with an amazing personal trainer at the Golds Gym in Columbia, SC. In the past I had worked with other trainers, but the others caused me to bulk up with weight training, this girl knows how to create long and lean muscles. I have lost INCHES since working with her! My abs look FABULOUS and my normally bulky thighs are lean for the first time in my life. I have gotten more out of working with her than I ever did with Mike at Body by Design. I so wish I had had this body when I was still competing, and I owe it all to this new trainer. She played volleyball at USC and is now working as a trainer and let me tell you she can whip you into shape FAST!

Her name is Lynae Vanden Hull.

I am rooting for Darlington Teen, Summerville, Greater Hartsville, Hampton County Teen, Charleston Teen. Why? Because they all have either shown great talent, poise or personality during their reign. Not necessarily at the forums but in everyday meetings. Now that's my opinion and who I'm rooting for a prelim or top finish. Who are you rooting for?

Not saying that all of these will make top ten or top five. However, they stood out at May Forum whether it in fitness or Talent. Wish them all the best!

Top contenders-
Miss: Greater Carolina, DLW, Greenville, Mauldin, Charleston County, Greer. I am most impressed with DLW and Greater Carolina. Both would make great Miss SC's. Very personable and consistent.

Teen: DLW, Mauldin, Laurens, Simpsonville...can't really think of any other ones. I think Maudlin and DLW will have to fight it out. Both are great girls! DLW is gorgeous!

Subject: I'm sure a lot of these girls are very sweet. But, I watched a lot of them at forum, and a lot of them are not as pretty as they think they are. Some appeared fake & conceited. Personality plays a huge role in competition. You can see straight through some of these girls.

Subject: Just returned from Shelley Benthall's wedding to Jonathan King. They were married in the gardens of Boone Hall plantation in Charleston. It was the most magical wedding I have ever attended. The love Shelley and Jonathan share is so special and genuine, you can see it and you could feel it in every aspect of the wedding ceremony and reception. Shelley was a gorgeous, gracious and exuberant bride. I took pics, but don't know how to post them. Congrats to Shelley and Jonathan!

These girls were by far the standouts tonight. Sorry if you don't agree, but I speak from professional experience. There is a lot of talent this year, so I hope everyone gives their absolute best. There were a lot of 7's and 8's tonight, but the girls above were 9's and 10's.

For those that do not know me, please let me introduce myself and my life since you are so interested Mr. or Mrs. "No Name" “Not Telling“ “Whatever“ . Since I am no longer a contestant anymore, or affiliated with the Miss South Carolina Pageant I wanted to set a few things straight. First, I didn't write on my schedule go to the hospital and have surgery for removing kidney stones (have you ever had them?) Doctor says, "Its worse than labor" SO YES I HAD A "KID" (Kid-Ney-Stone). Second, the economy has taken a negative affect on my family and I, so we didn't have enough funds to support my hospital visits nor the Miss South Carolina Pageant. Third, yes I am kind of tired of all the politics, and people who think they are real pageant directors and take on more than one queen and leave the others stranded with no help. I on the other hand had the BEST two directors in this STATE by FAR! They not only care about you and where you stand in the competition but they care about you as a PERSON! A local queen should not be tossed around like some Barbie doll. We are not meant to be bossed around LED's ( You are not our bosses), Whose to say we do not appreciate you and what you do? It does take time and effort to put on a pageant, and give your 100% support to your contestant.
The new Miss Florence did not have to take the position but she did, only because she is ready. I didn’t put her in any position. I am so sick and tired of you LED’s, Parent’s, Fans that get on this message board and bash other people’s children. It doesn’t make your favorite contestant win the Pageant or succeed. You people really need to get a life, or find a new hobby! If pageant’s revolve around your life 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 362 days a year then you have a serious problem. PLEASE SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION NOW! I can understand the individuals who have been involved since dinosaurs ruled, but really???
I have a wonderful career that I could not jeopardize or put on hold for the pageant. Miss South Carolina Organization doesn’t pay the bills. I am ready to begin my life and start taking more responsibility. Through the organization I have grown into a independent young women with goals and ambitions. Miss South Carolina was not my goal and ambition anymore. I have to take this responsibility now as an adult, not Miss “Local”. I do thank all of the ones who have supported me through out the years and encouraging me to keep trying or keep going! I also would love to thank the bashers of this board, you are the ones who make me laugh because you make yourselves look disgraceful! Please sign your name next time you have something to say negative about anyone, that way you don’t ever have to waste your time being nice to us in person. If I ever get back on this message board you will see me write my name out! Thank you to the Sanders; Papa Joe, Ms. Gail, Joey and Ms. Anita. Without all of you this pageant wouldn’t be possible. In my plans I am moving to Lexington on May 1, and continuing with my career. Good Luck to all the contestants! Every single one of you are winners regardless of who walks away as Miss South Carolina 2009.

Subject: I for one, hope the Miss SC is a BIG surprise!!! Everyone seems to be leaning towards Susanne White, Morgan Dampier, or Danielle Wilson, but I wouldn't count my chickens before they hatch. There's a lot of new comers that are really beautiful, and don't forget some of the returners that have the total package as well. We'll just have to wait and see.

Could it be that some of t hem didn't have any headshots made, and didn't have any better ones at the time? Or maybe, their going to surprise everyone by looking totally different. But, ladies, when you change your photos, please don't photo shop them too much, they don't look natural.
