I heard throughout the week that the Culpeppers, Jared Hembree & Kevin McCall, and Tiffany Haney werent coming back. Is this true? I thought Tiffany would come back since she had a winner and Jared and Kevin had two top 5's in two years. They all seem like great directors who know what they are doing.Just curious.

Kevin is such a kind person and cares so much about the girls. Jared has a bit of growing up to do especially after his antics on stage Saturday night. People around me were embarassed for him and he embarassed the Miss SC Pageant. He lost a lot of credability by doing that.
I think they will take a break and return in the future. Don't think they can stay away from it long, especially Kevin.

Subject: Does anyone work on their "pageant runway" walk? So many beautiful girls this year that did not know how to walk. Also, if you are going to walk in those HUGE stacked heels, practice walking without pushing out your rear end leaning forward. Your bottom should be beneath your shoulders and PULL BACK YOUR SHOULDERS STAND TALL.. And watch those arms that are moving like windmills. Everyone hears how swimsuit is won from the shoulders up. Is it because everyone wants to wear the clunky shoes to be taller than the girl next to them? If you cannot walk in the shoes, find another pair that allow you to stand like the queen you are!! Good luck next year , ladies!

What do you think Ali needs to work on in her preparation for Miss America? Her talent for the finals was much improved, performance-wise, over what I saw in the preliminaries. She is so beautiful that her choice of gowns needs to be done with great care, so they do not overwhelm her. She had a very tough question in the finals and she really did not answer it that well, so maybe some more experience will help with that area. Her walk at times seems awkward. That is easy to fix. Wow! With a little "fine tuning" this young lady has great potential at Miss America. These points are simply my personal observations. I want nothing but the best for her.

Ali is beautiful. but unfortunately for her, Steve, and Ashley it's going to take more than a pretty face to be a real contender at miss America. First and foremost you need intellect. Its common knowledge that thats just not one of Ali's assets. Her talent was lackluster at best. Get a real song that at least makes you look good because the cheesy butt-kissing armed forced medley just is not going to cut it. Swimsuit...where to start. not only is the point to look good but to model it well also. The girl looked emaciated. I'm not pointing any fingers but someone needs to put some serious work into her muscle tone. On top of that, she walked as if she sat on a tree stump and pulled it right out of the ground. Again, evening gown was pretty (minus the cape) but it would have been gorgeous had it been modeled well. On stage question was embarrasing. Considering you live in America I think it's safe to say that your proud to be an American. Wonderful news. But when asked about how you will help stimulate the economy WHEN youre crowned, that's not the right answer. Oh and I'm sure the 18 hours of footage of Ali recorded by ABC before she was even crowned was just coincidence. Cabaniss and Barfield were cheated. But you can't beat politics.

She wont need the scholarship money that bad and WE dont need the trouble and bitchiness that comes with this system. She has been very consistent. Her gown was absoloutly gorgeous, she was CUT in Swimsuit, her talent was trendy and relevent, remember at March Forum Ashley and Steve said they wanted "American Idol and X-factor" type of talent this year not the old standards, her platform about drug abuse based on her father being a drug abuser is a personal issue so I am sure her interview was sincere. You people are not seeing her because of the drama the Old Miss Pageland group caused her, but trust me the judges do not know about any of that. She will be in Top 10 and more than likely Top 5!

Here's a look at a few young ladies that I think are in the hunt for the title or top placements. Each have strengths and weaknesses. I do think SC will have a good rep for Miss America with the right polishing of the girl that wins. Need to keep the trend going with Bree getting SC back on the radar.

Ali Rogers- stunning and beautiful, former SC teen so knows what the job is about, good wardrobe, good overall candidate, has that Miss SC look and vibe; only questions would be whether the talent is compelling/entertaining enough to put her on top and is her speaking style engaging to have a convincing presence in interview. She did do well in onstage question, tv interview lacked a little energy in my opinion so not sure what interview is like.

Hannah Barfield- another stunning blonde, great wardrobe, dynamic poise and presence on stage, really lights up the stage, strong interview I would imagine (great educational background); only question for her is delivering enough in talent to win the title. The other categories are definitely there and she has the type of look that would show well at Miss America. Talent would be the only place she lives a little room for others.

Lauren Cabaniss- has all of the on stage competition elements and ingredients- good swimsuit, strong talent, has the drive to win. Not crazy about the gown this year. Interview is an unknown for me here, but her speaking at times seems a little mechanical and robotic, does not flow naturally maybe? Also, not sure if the judges are feeling it given she was the clear winner in talent on Wed and was passed up.

Leighann Bagwell- pretty girl, has done very well in on stage competition. Not sure about her interview. Potential weakness here would be her resume and educational background (discussed extensively on this board), could be a big detraction at Miss America if she is not taken seriously and is just another pretty face.

Hoping it comes down to the two blondes, Ali and Hannah. Go Clemson ladies! I would have a tough time picking between those two...love both of their looks.

This year's Desiree Puglia potential surprise is Clarka Wickliffe. She has the Desiree type hair and alternative look and could upset the apple cart with a big WTF...not my preference for Miss SC but could sneak in one of the top spots if all of the others cancel each other out. I can't wait for this board to light up if that happens.

Folks, it's still anybody's pageant at this point. 1 or 2 judges on the miss panel also judged Miss NC. The two double prelim winners in NC finished 4th and 2nd runner up respectively. The winner was a single prelim winner. I've also seen cases in SC where a non prelim winner wins the whole thing, most recently in 2009. 2009 also had a double prelim winner that finished 4th runner up. If a prelim winner does win this year, my choice would be Ali Rogers. She has the best overall credentials for Miss America in my opinion.
