My daughter is interested in competing next year. Can someone please explain the top five ballot, composite scores, and how talent is 50% of the scores for prelims but not for finals? [> Subject: At this point, local preliminaries will be running on the same scoring system as last year. State competition scoring hasn’t been established as of yet. As a response about scoring changing from preliminaries to final night, that’s pretty common, but at this point the national organization had not given directive to the states on how they are to conduct their state competitions. And again, locals will, at this point follow the same structure as last year, including swimsuit.
