My daughter is thinking of competing next year as a teen. We are new to this. If she wins a local pageant, who pays for her gown and interview clothing for state? Do parents pay or do the local sponsors pay?

Thank you for your honesty, It seems like a very expensive endeavor. I know the stories about buying from thrift stores and borrowing from friends, but the truth is, i look at most of the girls who make it to state and their gowns alone look like they cost thousands. Not to mention, the interview and talent clothing, the cost of coaches, etc. My daughter has a very strong talent and I think she would do well, but I really don't think I want to go down this road. Seems like so much money that we don't have.

What does the production fee cover and is it mandatory?

Then those families have mis-placed priorities. But more often than not, the mom is living through the daughter. Sad.
