I am happy to see Ashley on the National Board, but SC will miss him in the meantime. I miss the elegance and class that was formerly evident in the Miss South Carolina/Miss America system. It has attracted many wonderful young women over the years, however, people who did not need to have influence over these girls have been allowed to have it which has changed the system completely. It is sad when there is a board set up just to bash young, impressionable women. MISS SOUTH CAROLINA STAFF - please, please screen your LED's a little more carefully! There are some wonderful LED's, however, there are some that need to be removed and hospitalized!!!! On another note, I have attended several prelims and it has been sad to watch these powerful young women try to outdo one another. Also, most of the mothers are worse than the girls. If I hear one more mother say "Get up there. Go talk to . . ." PEOPLE - get some perspective and focus on the purpose of this organization. It provides scholarship for these girls and help for CMN! It is meant to build up - not tear down!
