Well, it makes total sense to decriminalize pot, so our government will never go for it. The whole "drug war" is a waste of time, money and energy, but opposing it is death to any American politician, so it's here to stay.

However, I can't see any politician being so stupid as to sever relations with our largest trading partner. They will make a big fuss for awhile, and then life will go back to normal. Maybe they will pay greater attention to the border crossings -- like they do at the US/Mexico one. If you look under 30, your car gets searched. And maybe even more Americans will come spend our tourism dollars in Canada, lol. You will become the Amsterdam of North America. ;-)

I don't know about making it legal at 16, though. What's your drinking age? That's what it should be.
