I somewhat agree-- but my *biggest* concern with legalizing pot is establishing accountability for pot users. Currently, I am not aware of any test that can tell you if someone is under the influence of pot at that time, just recently. That means anyone driving or working under the influence of pot is never going to be held accountable. Work places and traffic officers will have no recourse at all. *That's* what scares me.


As for the US being "friends" with Canada, I suppose there would be a big "front" about how the US is SO unhappy with Canada, but I don't think it would sever ties, or anything.
