Blue, being recessive...means both of Gordo's parents had to carry this gene.

How did the blue gene end up in boerboels? I know Night Train was the sire, but who was the dam?

Blue is only carried in a few breeds. Great Danes, Neapolitans, APBT, Am Staffs, and a few others yes, but most of the others were probably never infused into the boerboel during its creation.
