Interesting, i noticed in lighter airs that the helm was well balanced, as the wind speed increased the helm was getting noticeably heavier which prompted my question about reefing. I was playing with the draft positions and the tell tales were suggesting that the sails were working well together, what you say makes sense as it was weather helm that was increasing. Maybe lowering the mainsheet track to take some drive off the main first and then reef it. More play for the weekend if the crew will put up with the predicted rain.
