Subject: Not to appear completely naive but can someone tell me the true difference between the SF and PF in our system? I was tossing around the idea of switching Bill Clark & BJ Montiero.

They are almost exactly the same size. Bj's game seems more geared to the inside. He doesn't shoot the ball particularly well (about 50% from the FT) but can score inside and had a reputation for rebounding and blocking shots in HS. Bill on the other hand would be moved to the more natural #3 position where shooting and ball handling is more critical which are his forte. If there is no real difference in positions though, the point is likely moot.

- Ideally you are correct, but what we saw last year was Saunders at the 5 and Clark at the 4. If Martin/Peggau don't step up this year, we will see more of the same. So my take on the question is that Clark is a bit stronger, and bit tougher, and a bit better rebounder than is Monteiro. (NT) -- Slim, Friday, July 09, 12:45:12pm

  - I think you've summed this up pretty well actually. I think it's wholly dependent upon the end of the floor. Clark guarding the other team's 4 makes more sense than Monteiro (who seems to me to be pretty poor defensively and isn't as strong as Clark).
