It sounds to me like she overdid it in Jujitsu. The second day being more sore sounds like Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (if I am right, the second day is usually always the worst). She needs to stretch the heck out of them. If you can go help her, it would be great (or if she has a roommate, boyfriend, husband, etc.).

Here's a great way to stretch out the quads. She will hurt like heck and will want to kill you until it's over. Once it's over, she may want to kiss you, so watch for that, too. Anyhoo...

Have her lie on her stomach. Take one leg and bend it until the heel touches the butt. If she hasn't stopped you by that time, slowly start to lift the knee off the floor. When she does stop you, hold it for 10-20 seconds (she'll be in major pain, so warn her ahead of time). Switch legs.

Second stretch is very similar to the first. Have her lie on her stomach again/still/whatever. This time, lift her knee up off the floor until you can't lift anymore without her pelvis coming off the floor (that is a very important point, the pelvis has to stay on the floor squarely throughout both these stretches). Then, slowly bend her knee to touch her heel to her butt. Again, the pain will be intense (this time it will be a bit higher on the thigh).

There has to be a second person. She won't stretch herself as far as she'll let someone else stretch her. I can pretty much guarantee that. By the time she's done being stretched, she'll have significantly less pain in her quads. I've stretched people from hobbling to no pain whatsoever. It can be that dramatic.

Remember to take it slow and to hold the stretch for 10-20 seconds. Warn her that it will hurt while she's doing it, but it will reduce her pain greatly.
