Baylina watched as the guard fell into an endless and black eternity. Never again would he live to see another battle, or serve the king. She realized that her victory meant that she had proven her worth and she looked to see what Craven thought of a woman winning a battle. Perhaps, she had given him something to think about –something that could bring about a change in the way he saw things. Changes had to start from somewhere, right?

His statement rang clear through her ears, and she responded promptly, “It is…” Baylina was not one to lie, and she had not been to begin with…but the king did not understand the world she had come from. On the other hand, she did not understand his way of thinking either, or his lifestyle –so she supposed it was fair enough.

When he spoke of mockery, Bay did not even argue with him. Although she had not been mocking him, she allowed him to think so –just to spare any more trouble. Before anything else was said, the Sarmatian retrieved the boomerang that the guard had thrown to the ground and placed it in its rightful position along her side after she wiped away the blood. Then, she glanced at the sword wound, which had been nearly forgotten up until the point that she felt fresh blood flowing down her arm. Baylina viewed it at an angle that the king would not be capable of seeing the scars and tattoos that decorated her cloaked body.

Then the young slave was summoned forth, and the poor child appeared misplaced it such a place as the Roman castle. Before following the child, Bay nodded at the king and gave him one last look before exiting the room. She trailed the child into another room without a word, still deep in thought over the past events. Finally, she looked around the room and the bath that had been prepared. She supposed it would not hurt to tend to the wound…she did not need an infection after all.

Baylina dismissed the slave and eyed her surroundings carefully…looking for something that could be used against her. She did not trust Craven, and it was obvious in her cautious actions; after all, she was in his domain. Finally, the bath wiped away the last of her suspicions for the moment as Bay undressed and sank into the warm water…allowing it to drown away her worries until she was ready to address them later.

//And you can’t fight the tears that ain’t coming\\//Or the moment of truth in your lies\\
//When everything feels like the movies\\//Yeah, you bleed just to know your alive\\
//And I don’t want the world to see me\\//Cause I don’t think that they’d understand\\
//When everything’s made to be broken\\//I just want you to know who I am.\\
