The corridor intersected a much broader scope of land, with the castle just beyond. Vysaere's nerves were wound tight as the string of her crossbow, and it made her painfully alert. She and Kurai darted from hedge to hedge, wall to wall, avoiding open spaces but sprinting across them with incredible speed when necessary. A flaw in the design, Lord Architect, she thought mockingly about halfway to the keep. You created far too many places to hide. A small stream, carved by human hands for the purpose of watering the extensive, beautiful gardens, gurgled at the edges of her hearing. She tracked the sound to the sluice gate from which the water emptied, and nodded decisively to Kurai from where they hid behind a concealing hedge. "There," she breathed, gaze flickering back and forth from the sluice gate to her partner's face. The gate fronted a small building which she assumed was the garderners' shed. Judging by the proximity to the castle, it would contain an entrance...one far less noticable than the main door. Should the gardeners be in residence, well -- that was unfortunate for them. They were not likely to survive an encounter with praticed assassins.
