I like the new captain, and the dynamic she brings. That said, this episode didn�t convince me, either. There were a few nice lines, but the plot...no, didn�t like it. I, too, would have liked to see a bit more of Alexis. I have high hopes for next week, let�s hope they get their groove back! -- HarmyBoard Entertainment

I don't think the problem with the new boss is with the casting, it's with the way they are writing her. TPTB wanted to create some conflict in the office (everyone got along too well with the old captain). This sounds familiar, doesn't it? (Chegwiddon vs Cresswell) I am holding out hope that she eventually warms up to everyone.

As for the ship, he's backing away because she practically told him she wasn't ready. But I don't think the ship is missing at all. Last week he made a flirty comment about her being in skimpy clothes, and there was definitely something going through their heads when they were watching the couple kiss at the end of the ep last week. Then last night they shared another meaningful look when they had that discussion about love after the lady committed suicide to be with her husband.

Last night's ep wasn't the strongest, but it was still way better than a lot of the stuff that is on TV these days!

I'm with you too, JJ. I'm perfectly willing to wait, for the intensity and the fireworks, sometimes the journey is as much fun as the destination. I thought last night was fun and to tell the truth, light is just what the doctor ordered for me. LOL. Although....I really could do without the "sir" instead of ma'am, for the captain.
